🔼 Mama Mia! On Monday, the American Athletic Conference released its Preseason Coaches' Poll and Preseason All-Conference awards ahead of the 2024 volleyball season, with Mia Soerensen representing UTSA as a unanimous selection. Additionally, the Roadrunners were slotted to finish seventh out of 13 AAC programs.
Soerensen was named to the All-Conference team a season ago, marking UTSA's first selection since joining the league and the first second-team pick since 2018. She started 28 matches for the Roadrunners as an opposite hitter, playing in 106 sets and posting a team-high 386.0 points. She paced the squad in kills, recording 337 terminations for an average of 3.18 per set, and converted attacks at a .249 clip.
🔼 Straight Reppin’. The UTSA Athletics Department was proud to have MBB head coach Austin Claunch and UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos representing UTSA and San Antonio at the Final Four Tip-Off Luncheon!
🔼 Bird Box But Make it Fun. UTSA Athlete Alumni and US Navy Surface Warfare Officer Sean Ianno was given the opportunity to take current student-athletes through a team-building activity—a blindfolded rescue litter carry relays with one person leading the blind.
“Love getting to do these kinds of things for work, especially for my alma mater!” Ianno tweeted.
🔼 Defend the Dome, But Not From Music. It's ALWAYS a party at the Alamodome, and we're pumped that Jerry DeLeon & Southbound will kick it off for us as part of our Rowdy Town Live series at H-E-B Plaza!
