From Roadrunner to Hawk, UTSA legend Keaton Wallace just signed with Atlanta

Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. The Atlanta Hawks have signed a two-way contract with UTSA men’s basketball legend Keaton Wallace, setting the former Roadrunners star to continue into his second season with the NBA franchise. He previously signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2023.
Playing in Showcase Cup action last season for the Hawks’ G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks, Wallace averaged 12.9 points per game on 43.8 percent shooting from the field.
Ending his time in San Antonio as UTSA’s second all-time leading scorer, Wallace averaged 16.6 points for the Roadrunners across his four-year career.

🔼Birds Up. In draft news, UTSA record-setting wide receiver Joshua Cephus has been selected by the San Antonio Brahmas in the 2024 UFL College Draft. Congratulations to Joshua!
🔼Girls of Summer. The Lone Star Collegiate League (LSCL) officially crowned its inaugural champion on Saturday, with UTSA sophomore outfielder Aubrie Henderson helping the Texas 512s to the title.
The American Collegiate League (ACL), which serves as the national body of governance for regional collegiate summer league softball, established the LSCL in 2024 to bring competitive collegiate softball summer play, player development, player experience, and the growth of the overall game to Texas.

🔼Holding Court. On Wednesday, the American Volleyball Coaches Association released its 2024 Team Academic Award winners, with UTSA receiving recognition after a stellar academic year.
The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year.
This marks the 10th time the Roadrunners have received the accolade and the first occasion since the 2021 campaign. UTSA turned in a 3.49 cumulative GPA, with Makenna Wiepert, Peyton Turner, and Mia Soerensen leading the way, all posting a 4.0.
🔼Soccer’s Comin’ in Hot. The UTSA soccer team has announced the complete kickoff times schedule for its 18-game 2024 regular season, highlighted by nine home games and one exhibition at the Park West Athletics Complex.
Following a 7 p.m. exhibition against Big 12 foe Baylor on Aug. 4, UTSA will officially open the 2024 slate at the 7 p.m. inaugural meeting with Navy on Aug. 15 at Park West. This kicks off the nine-game home schedule that features five night games at 7 p.m., with four home games on Thursdays and five on Sundays.
