Rounding out the on-field staff are Defensive Coordinator and safeties coach Jess Loepp, running backs coach and NFL liaison Julian Griffin, associate head coach, pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach Joe Price and run game coordinator and offensive line coach Kurt Traylor.

The Roadrunners are coming off a 9-4 campaign and their first bowl win in program history with a 35-17 victory over Marshall in the Frisco Bowl.

🔼 Let’s Run With This. For the second time this indoor season, a UTSA track & field athlete has been recognized for American Athletic Conference weekly honors. But this week, the Roadrunners went big after a highly-successful outing at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. – with UTSA three athletes netting weekly awards. UTSA freshman long jumper Ida Breigan has been named the AAC’s Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, while junior Gabriel Binion was named AAC Men’s Field Co-Athlete of the Week and junior Mike Roth received AAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week accolades.

With a week of rest looming and no competitions on the schedule, UTSA is now turning attention to the program’s inaugural appearance at the American Athletic Conference Championships, which will be held in Birmingham, Ala., Feb. 23-24 at the Birmingham Crossplex.

🔼 Birds Up as Birdies Abound. Jack Wehman finished in the top 10 to lead four Roadrunners in the top 20, helping the UTSA men’s golf team to a third-place showing at the Bentwater Invitational, which concluded yesterday at Bentwater Country Club’s Miller Course (par 71/6,788 yards).

Wehman entered the final round with a share of 12th at 4-over-par 146 (72-74). The junior from Austin fired an even-par 71 on Tuesday to move into a tie for eighth place at 4-over 217.

Meanwhile, David Harrison posted UTSA’s top score of the final round with a 1-under 70, while Hunter Bott and Brock Blais matched Wehman with 71s to help the Roadrunners jump two spots in the team standings on the final day into sole possession of third place. UTSA fired a 1-under 283 today and finished with an 875, three shots ahead of SFA and seven in front of UT Arlington in the 13-team field.

The Roadrunners will return to action on Feb. 25-27 when they travel to Puerto Rico for the Dorado Beach Collegiate.

The Consortium funds grants for research in the area of student-athlete well-being while providing a space for collaborative efforts across the membership to discuss and enhance the student-athlete experience.

“Not only does it [the symposium] bring together students, faculty, and administrators from across the conference for innovative and stimulating sessions, but it gives us a chance to showcase what we’re building here at UTSA to our new conference peers,” said Gregg Michel, UTSA Associate Professor of History and Faculty Athletics Representative.

🔼 Proctor’s Master Class. On Monday, the American Athletic Conference selected Aysia Proctor as the league's Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.

Proctor was issued the accolade after propelling the Roadrunners to a 76-58 victory over a first-place UAB squad on Sunday. She led the contest with 14 points, going 6-for-9 from the field, including 2-for-4 from beyond the arc, while collecting seven rebounds and two assists.

She last was awarded on Jan. 22, following a week that saw her work 14.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, two blocks, and an assist across contests with South Florida and UAB.

UTSA will be back in action on Wednesday as they visit Tulsa, Oklahoma, for a 6:30 PM CST showing with the Golden Hurricane inside the Reynolds Center.
