🔼 Your Matrix Sans Keanu…Sorry. The American Athletic Conference has revealed its 2024-25 women's basketball scheduling matrix, with UTSA set to face nine opponents in league play at the Convocation Center.
An 18-game conference slate is on the docket, as UTSA will play 12 opponents, facing six twice and the other six once. The Roadrunners will battle Rice, Tulsa, East Carolina, Memphis, UAB and Wichita State at home and again on the road. Meanwhile, North Texas, Temple, and Florida Atlantic will face UTSA in the Alamo City, while the 'Runners will travel to South Florida, Tulane, and Charlotte.
The Roadrunners' nonconference schedule will be announced at a later date.

🔼 Clash on the Court. Heading into the inaugural season under head coach Austin Claunch, UTSA Men's Basketball learned the pairing breakdown of its 2024-25 AAC opponents on Thursday.
Every conference school will play 18 league games, including six of its 12 conference opponents twice and the other six once – three at home and three on the road. This season, The American will have 13 teams competing in men's basketball: UAB, Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Memphis, North Texas, Rice, South Florida, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa, Wichita State and UTSA.
The Roadrunners' complete non-conference schedule will be announced at a later date.

🔼 In Memoriam. UTSA Athletics is mourning the loss of former men’s basketball head coach Stu Starner, who passed away on July 17, 2024, in Bozeman, Montana, at 81.
Assuming his role as UTSA men’s basketball program’s third head coach on April 9, 1990, Starner accrued 85 wins, including 56 conference victories, across his five seasons leading the Roadrunners (1990-95). Currently the second-winningest coach in UTSA history, Starner opened his time at the helm in San Antonio with consecutive 21-8 finishes, capturing regular season conference titles in both the Trans America Athletic Conference in 1990-91 with a 12-2 league record and then the Southland Conference in 1991-92 with a 15-3 conference finish.

🔼 This News is Comin’ in Hot. UTSA Director Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox has added 12-time All-American and NCAA Division II National Champion sprinter Shadae Findley to the Roadrunners 2024-25 roster.
Originally from Evergreen, Manchester, Jamaica, Findley comes to San Antonio with notable championship success at both Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas, and Western Texas College in Snyder. She has accumulated eight NCAA DII All-American accolades, four each in the 400-meter and on the 4x400-meter relay – twice in 400m as first-team; twice as second-team and four times with first-team honors on the 4x400m. Before ASU, she was a three-time individual second-team NJCAA All-American in the 800-meter and once with the 4x800-meter relay at WTC.

To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in an American Athletic Conference-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits.
