Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. On Thursday, head UTSA women's basketball Coach Karen Aston announced a trio of promotions, with Cameron Miles, Chantel Govan, and Sophia Ramos all receiving new staff roles.
The announcement follows an incredibly successful campaign that saw UTSA go 18-15, collecting the program's most wins and the first national postseason berth since the 2008-09 campaign. The 'Runners picked up their inaugural postseason victory via an 80-62 routing of Northern Colorado in the Opening Round of the WNIT.

🔼 Eugene or Bust. Junior Gabriel Binion highlighted the first day of UTSA track & field action during Wednesday’s NCAA West Region First Round by earning his spot in Eugene, Oregon, for the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Roadrunners Nabil Tezkratt and Brice Chabot earned slots in today’s sprint quarterfinals.
Binion’s first long jump measurement of 7.73m (25-4.5) and 10th-place finish proved enough to punch his ticket for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. It’s his first qualification for Nationals as a Roadrunner, but his second after collecting All-America honorable mention in 2022 while he was a freshman at Grand Canyon.
🔼 Going For the Deep Set. On Wednesday, UTSA volleyball coach Carol Price-Torok announced the addition of Bailey Lechler and Morgan Durgens to the 2024 roster, with the duo rounding out a recruiting class that includes Annika Sokol, Caroline Tredwell, Ally Tribe, Martina Franco, and Isabella Arroyave.

🔼 Hanging Up the Cleats Until Next Season. The No. 2 seeded UTSA baseball team dropped a 12-5 decision to sixth-seeded Florida Atlantic in its second game of the American Athletic Conference Championship on Wednesday, ending its tournament run and season. No. 2 seed UTSA ends its season with an impressive 32-24 overall record.
🔼 Ida…Also Like To Go. The UTSA Track & Field team made an addition to its Eugene, Ore. travel party and added another to the next round on Thursday at the NCAA West Region First Round. Freshman Ida Breigan joined Wednesday qualifier and fellow long jumper Gabriel Binion in punching her own ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, while senior Ayumi Kobayashi qualified for Saturday’s 100-meter hurdles quarterfinal with her career-best clocking.
🔼 BrandNew. In a continuing effort to support its student-athletes in the areas of Name, Image, and Likeness, UTSA Athletics announced Thursday a first-of-its-kind partnership with The BrandR Group and Athletic Solutions to launch the Roadrunners NIL Shop.
The Roadrunners NIL Shop will provide each UTSA student-athlete the opportunity to open their own online store. The stores will offer more than 100 different styles, including headwear, jerseys, tees, fleece, and accessories from various brands in the collegiate space. The offerings of colors, styles, and graphics are almost unlimited.
