Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. Welp, we might as well call this the Smarty Pants Brew, as there is a lot of news of UTSA student-athletes excelling both on the course and in the classroom.

📈 STOCK UP 

🔼 No One-Trick Roadrunners. The UTSA women’s golf program has placed a pair of student-athletes on the 2024 Academic All-District® Women’s At-Large Team, as Morgan Ellison and Olivia Williams were honored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. This marks the second straight year that Ellison has landed on the team, while Williams collected her first career accolade.

To be considered, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and compete in 90 percent of the institution's contests.

🔼 H-2-Oyeahhhhh. UTSA’s Hunter Bott and David Harrison have landed on the 2024 Academic All-District® Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team as the College Sports Communicators (CSC) honored student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.

This marks the second straight year that Harrison has earned a spot on the team, while Bott received his first career accolade.

🔼 Home Court Advantage. Single-game tickets are now on sale for the 2024 UTSA volleyball home schedule, featuring 15 games in the Convocation Center. Those wishing to purchase tickets may do so here. 

The Roadrunners will open the home slate by welcoming Texas State for a Battle of I-35 bout on Sep. 4. Shortly after, the squad will host the UTSA Invitational, which will see a clash with Holy Cross on Sept. 6, ahead of a matchup with Abilene Christian.

🔼 A Stellar Partner. This summer, UTSA Athletics is doing profiles to provide a look into how each unit serves Roadrunners’ student-athletes. In this edition, they sat down with Robert Stockhausen, the General Manager of UTSA Sports Properties. As part of Playfly Sports, they manage UTSA Athletics’ multimedia rights.  

Q: How does your department service UTSA student-athletes? 

Robert Stockhausen: “UTSA Sports Properties serves the athletics department as a whole in a few different ways, but primarily, we are in charge of revenue generation through sponsorships. That could mean a lot of things like finding corporate partners – companies that want to be involved with advertising and marketing through the games, the events and the broadcasts – and helping to amplify and improve the experience for the fans…”
