Women's hoops face the South Florida Bulls today in the American Women's Basketball Championship

Good morning. The No. 4 seed UTSA women's basketball team is set to make its 2024 American Women's Basketball Championship debut today at 2 PM CST inside Dickies Arena. After securing a double-bye courtesy of a fourth-place regular season finish, the 'Runners will meet No. 5 seed South Florida, who took down No. 13 seed Wichita State 69-62 in the second round.

Fans wishing to watch UTSA in the tournament may purchase an all-session ticket starting at $90, and individual session tickets are priced at $19. š¼ Donāt Hayt the Player. While playing in his hometown to lead the UTSA menās golf team on the second day of The Hayt at Sawgrass Country Club (par 72/6,966 yards), Brock Blais posted a 1-under-par 71. The final round is set for today.
Blais used a pair of birdies and an eagle en route to turning in the seventh par-or-better scorecard of his true freshman season, bouncing back from a 78 in Saturdayās opening round to move into a tie for 27th in the 84-man field. The Ponte Vedra High School product birdied a pair of par fours ā the 411-yard second and 381-yard 16th holes ā and had an eagle on the 536-yard, par-5 eighth to help him climb 27 spots in the individual race.
š¼ Just Short. Despite a 27-point PJ Carter scoring effort, the Temple Owls (12-19, 5-13 AAC) worked back from a 10-point deficit in the final 10 minutes, dealing UTSA menās basketball (11-20, 5-13 AAC) an 84-82 loss in Sundayās regular-season finale at the Convocation Center. Templeās Hysier Miller hit a fadeaway leaner as time expired to give the Owls the two-point victory, spoiling UTSAās Senior Day and snapping the Roadrunnersā three-game win streak, heading into next weekās American Athletic Conference Championships.
Prior to the game, the Roadrunners held the annual Senior Day celebration, sending off Dre Fuller Jr., Carlton Linguard Jr., and Isaiah Wyatt.
š¼ Hillās Hits Extravaganza. Despite dropping the games on Friday and Sunday, the UTSA baseball team earned a nail-biting 5-4 win in 12 innings against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday night at Chapman Field in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Senior left fielder Caleb Hill went 5-for-6 with three runs. His five hits tied a program single-game record, marking the 17th time a Roadrunner has notched five hits in a game. The last time a Roadrunner achieved the feat was last season by Leyton Barry on March 11, 2023, also against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
š¼ Tough Tennis V. Tarleton. On Saturday, the UTSA womenās tennis team lost a hard-fought battle to Tarleton, 4-3. The Roadrunners won at the second court, as Magda Tuells and Ekua Youri defeated the Texansā duo of Elsa Boisson and Clara Sobius by 6-2. However, Tarleton responded with wins at the third and first courts to earn the 1-0 lead.
The Roadrunners head to the Sunshine State for a pair of matches next weekend, playing Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Florida, at 10 AM CST on March 15 and FIU in Miami at 10 AM CST on March 17.
