UTSA WBB will take on the Northern Colorado Bears tomorrow in the WNIT opening matchup

Good morning. Tickets are officially on sale for the UTSA women's basketball Postseason WNIT opening round matchup against Northern Colorado, which will take place tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center (more on that below). 

2023-24 women's basketball season ticket holders will have their regular seats reserved in their UTSA ticket accounts on Wednesday at noon.

🔼 Let’s Make History. The Postseason WNIT bracket was officially unveiled on Monday. In the opening round of the tournament, UTSA will host Northern Colorado at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, March 21) at the Convocation Center. 

The Roadrunners (17-14, 10-8 The American) will invite the Bears (15-15, 10-8 Big Sky) to the Alamo City for UTSA's first appearance in a postseason event since the 2008-09 campaign. UTSA previously made the NCAA Tournament in the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons and is set to make its Postseason WNIT debut. The squad is searching for the first postseason victory in the program's history. 

🔼 The Super Seven. A total of seven former UTSA football players participated in UTSA’s annual Pro Day on Monday at the Roadrunner Athletics Center of Excellence in front of personnel representing 20 NFL teams. The UTSA football team will continue spring practice this week in advance of the UTSA Football Fiesta Spring Game, which will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at the Alamodome.

🔼 Best Putt Forward. The UTSA men’s golf team closed out the All-American Intercollegiate on Tuesday, finishing in 17th place in the 54-hole event at the Golf Club of Houston (par 72/7,067 yards). Paced by Hunter Bott’s eighth consecutive top-25 finish, the Roadrunners recorded a 605 that included a 299 in the final round on Tuesday. UTSA ended up six shots ahead of AAC foe Memphis and 24 strokes in front of Louisiana.

The Roadrunners will return to action on April 6-7 at The Aggie Invitational in Bryan, Texas.

Answer: Karen Aston was named the head coach of the Roadrunners women’s hoops program in March of 2021.

A former head coach at Texas, North Texas and Charlotte, Aston has been consistently recognized as one of the top coaches in the nation. She was one of four finalists for the Naismith Women’s College Coach of the Year award in 2017, and was one of 10 semifinalists for the honor in 2018. Aston also earned Big 12 Coach of the Year accolades in 2017.
