🔼 Blocking Anything in Her Way. Throughout her life, UTSA Volleyball’s Alicia Coppedge has been comfortable blazing her own trail and following her own timeline.
The 6-foot-1 senior middle blocker from Houston recently graduated with her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and has carried a rigorous academic load while excelling on the volleyball court. She has led the Roadrunners in blocks each of the last two seasons.
She is currently gaining valuable professional experience interning with Waterman Construction, led by longtime UTSA Athletics supporter Andrew Waterman.
For some collegiate student-athletes, the opportunity to participate in an internship might not be a reality. But Coppedge credits UTSA’s third-year head coach, Carol Price-Torok, for prioritizing not only the development of her student-athletes on the court but also their futures.

🔼 A Multitude Of Mini-Monets. UTSA Athletics announced the winners of its football season ticket design contest.
The Roadrunners received more than 150 entries from children aged 5-12 residing in the greater San Antonio area. The theme of the tickets is Hometown Heroes, representing the six groups of Hometown Heroes that UTSA Athletics will recognize during the 2024 football season.
A winner was selected for each of the six-game tickets and the cover of the season ticket booklet. Go ⇢ here to learn the winners.
🔼 ‘Runners Being ‘Runners. The College Sports Communicators released its 2024 Softball Academic All-District Teams, with junior Sophie Campbell and redshirt sophomore Kylie Forney representing UTSA among the honorees. Campbell has earned the distinction for the second consecutive season, while Forney is a first-time pick and the fifth Roadrunner to earn the accolades in the program’s history.
The ‘Runners everyday first baseman, Campbell, appeared in 57 games with 55 starts while maintaining a stellar 3.71 GPA. Forney started 52 games at third base, launching four long balls and recording 14 RBIs. She boasts a 3.58 GPA while studying kinesiology at UTSA.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: The current jaunt marks the second European Tour in program history, so there has only been one tour before.
The team last ventured across the pond in 2016, visiting Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, and Italy. This expedition was enriching for the student-athletes both on and off the court. The team competed in exhibition matches against the professional Serbian team Dinamo-Belgrade, the Croatian National Junior Team, the Slovenian Junior National Team, and the professional Italian team Club Italia.
🤙🏼 Have a great Wednesday, y’all!
