🔼 Volleyball Wins The Weekend. UTSA volleyball is back to .500 on the season after winning two-of-three matches at its Roadrunner Classic against Central Arkansas, Alabama and Sam Houston.

After making quick work of Central Arkansas in three sets on Friday morning, the ‘Runners played a pair of five-set thrillers to round out tournament play — a loss to Alabama on Friday night and a win over Sam Houston on Saturday.

🔼 Key Component. Junior volleyball standout Caroline Tredwell played a key role in beating Sam Houston this past weekend, with nine kills and 17 digs in five sets.

🔼 Runners, On Your Mark. UTSA cross country’s season is officially underway, with both the men’s and women’s squads finishing seventh at the UIW Invitational at Windcrest Golf Club.

OJ Ruiz paced the men in their four-mile race, finishing in eighth place at 19:52.2. AJ Tyler also secured a top-50 finish with a time of 21:00.1, good enough for 38th. The women were led by Jadelyn Malesich, who finished 29th in the women’s 5K with a time of 19:26.1. Chante Dixon (36th), Lisa Pelletier (37th) and Savannah Lopez (50th) were all top-50 finishers.

🔼 Trip To The Capitol. Despite a solid day from running back Robert Henry Jr. that included a 53-yard touchdown run, UTSA football dropped a 56-7 contest at No. 2 Texas on Saturday night in front of over 100,000 fans at Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Henry Jr. and the rest of the running game was able to gain some traction in the game, totaling 128 yards on the ground against a Texas defense that allowed just 80 rushing yards to Michigan last weekend.

The Roadrunner defense caused a pair of turnovers against the Longhorns, an interception by Owen Pewee and a fumble recovery by Tyan Milton, and were led by Martavius French with seven tackles.
