🔼 Stock is Rising. UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos has been appointed to a four-year term on the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision Oversight Committee.
The Football Oversight Committee – comprised of representatives from each divisional subgroup that sponsors football – works in conjunction with appropriate governance entities to provide solutions to issues impacting the health and safety of football student-athletes.
“This is a pivotal time within college football, given our changing landscape,” Campos said. “I look forward to working together with my colleagues on the committee as we navigate the future and continue to enhance the student-athlete experience.”
🔼 Islanders Under Water. UTSA soccer wrapped up its final exhibition of the 2024 season on the road, collecting a 2-1 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday night. Shifting gears to an aggressive approach, the Roadrunners delivered a strong offensive output, leaving the Islanders under constant siege.
Much like the opening exhibition with Baylor, the Roadrunners took advantage of the preseason opportunities and utilized a big rotation, registering playing time for 24 players on the night.
🔼 Are You a Fan, Or a Fan-Fan? ICYMI! UTSA Football Fan Day will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Convocation Center. Admission is free.
It’s the perfect time to bring the whole family and fans of all ages out to the UTSA Main Campus to meet this year’s football team.
UTSA Football Fan Day will feature an autograph session, inflatables, face painting, a balloon artist, and appearances by UTSA Cheer and Rowdy. Head coach Jeff Traylor also will address the crowd to give insight on the upcoming season.
🔼 He’ll Huff, and He’ll Puff, and He’ll Blow…Your Mind. Is there anything that Tim Huff can't do? A San Antonio native and UTSA football player, Huff aspires to be an aerospace engineer, plays three instruments, and has many more interests.

Answer: The UTSA soccer program's August 18 home matchup with the crosstown UIW Cardinals has been moved to San Antonio FC’s Toyota Field in a huge night for San Antonio soccer, Roadrunners, and Cardinals fans alike.
In the second regular season game of the 2024 campaign for both programs, UTSA and UIW will square off for just the second-ever meeting between these programs in the regular season, set to kick off at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, at Toyota Field.
