🔼 Meet The Team. Roadrunner football fans — don’t miss your opportunity to interact with your 2024 UTSA football team!

Bring the whole family and join us for free at UTSA Football Fan Day this Saturday, Aug. 17 from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. at the Convocation Center!

The day will feature an autograph session with members of the team, inflatables, face painting, a balloon artist, appearances by UTSA Cheer and Rowdy, and a speech from head coach Jeff Traylor.

🔼 Preseason Praise. UTSA tight end Oscar Cardenas has been named to the preseason watch list for the John Mackey Award, one of 48 players on this year’s watch list.

Cardenas has twice already been named an all-conference performer for the Roadrunners, and last season caught 32 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns. 2024 is set to be a milestone season for Cardenas, who is 18 catches away from 100 for his career and just three yards away from 1,000 career yards.

🔼 Hut, Hut, Hike. Cardenas was not the only Roadrunner who found his name on a preseason watch list over the weekend — center CJ James has been included on the Rimington Trophy watch list!

James will make his Roadrunner debut this season after starting all 12 games at center for New Mexico last season, where he only surrendered three hits on the quarterback in 435 pass-blocking reps in 2023.

🔼 Teeing It Up. Golf fans, get those calendars out — UTSA men’s golf has announced its 2024-25 schedule, and will kick off the fall portion at their home venue, TPC San Antonio.

The Roadrunners will host the Texas Collegiate from Sept. 21-23 before heading out onto the road for three more tournaments to close out 2024, including the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas, the Fallen Oak Invitational in Biloxi, Miss. and The Clerico in Broken Arrow, Okla.

🔼 Runners, On Your Mark. The 2024 UTSA cross country schedule is also here, with the Roadrunners set to run twice in Texas this fall.

The team will kick off its season at the UIW Invitational on Sept. 13 before heading west to California for a pair of meets to close out the month. The AAC Championships will be hosted by Wichita State on Nov. 2.

🤙 ONE BIG THING

Success On The Field Turns Into Success Off It. Former UTSA women’s soccer standout Kendall Kloza led the Roadrunners to a conference championship as a team captain in 2022 and earned the title of Conference USA Defensive MVP that same year.

Her success and leadership skills caught the eye of Boston Scientific, a medical device company, where she has thrived since graduating.
