UTSA Football's Brandon Brown and Joe Evans both placed on preseason watch lists

Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. UTSA senior defensive lineman Brandon Brown has been named to the Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List, unveiled on Tuesday by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).
After transferring to UTSA from Tulane prior to the 2021 season, Brown has played in 41 consecutive games and earned starts in each of the past 34 contests. As a Roadrunner, he has racked up 64 total tackles, 31 solo stops, 14 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

🔼 ‘Nother One to Watch. In more preseason accolade news, UTSA senior defensive lineman Joe Evans has been named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List.
Evans is one of 75 defensive standouts, including one of five from the American Athletic Conference and one of 28 defensive linemen selected for the list.
The senior defensive lineman from Haynesville, Louisiana, has collected all-conference honors in each of his first two seasons with the Roadrunners. He earned third-team all-league recognition last fall after posting 18 total tackles, 11 unassisted stops, 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a safety. He posted a season-high six tackles, and he made a pair of stops, including 1.5 TFL and a sack that went for a safety, in the 36-10 win at Florida Atlantic.
🔼 Birdies and Books For These Baddies. For the sixth straight year, the UTSA men’s golf program has been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Academic Team.
The Roadrunners received the award for posting a team GPA of 3.0 or better after wrapping up their second season under head coach Matt Wernecke earlier this year.
This award comes less than one week after Hunter Bott and David Harrison were named 2023-24 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars.
