Good morning. Junior outfielder Mason Lytle came up big for the Roadrunners and launched two home runs to lift the UTSA baseball team to a 7-5 win over Memphis. The Roadrunners earned the series win in the Sunday finale to move to 21-15 overall and 9-3 in conference play.

Starting pitcher Ulises Quiroga picked up his fourth win, striking out four batters in five innings pitched, and James Taussig led the team with a career-best 3-for-4 game, picking up one run, three RBI and a home run – his fifth of the season.

The Roadrunners will now return home on Tuesday to host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 6 p.m. at Roadrunner Field on Baseball History Day.

🔼 Elite Finishes. On the third day of competition, UTSA track and field earned four event victories, a pair of collegiate winners, a pair of elite-tier national marks, and a school record on the final day of action at the Beach Invitational. The most notable finish of the day belonged to freshman Ida Breigan who leaped her way to the best long jump measurement in school history, eclipsing the previous record.

🔼 Senior Day Success. On Senior Day for UTSA men’s tennis, the Roadrunners came away with a 6-1 victory over Incarnate Word to deliver the fourth consecutive double-digit season. The Roadrunners celebrated three outgoing seniors at the midpoint of the match, Alan Magadan, Jackson Ross and Garrett Skelly, all of whom secured victories in the match.

🔼 Championship Status. UTSA women’s golf team will travel to Brooksville, Florida, to play in the AAC Championship, which will be held on April 15-17, at Southern Plantation Club. The Roadrunners will bring a lineup of Camryn Carreon, Daniela Abonce, Morgan Ellison, Olivia Williams and Maria Bastarrica for the three-day, 54-hole tournament. This will mark UTSA’s first appearance in the AAC Championship after competing for the last decade in Conference USA.

🤙 ONE BIG THING

The Orange rallied from a 9-2 halftime deficit for an 11-10 victory over the Blue in the annual UTSA Football Fiesta Spring Game on Saturday afternoon in front of 8,130 Roadrunner faithful at the Alamodome.

An official Fiesta San Antonio event since its inception in 2011, the UTSA Football Fiesta Spring Game used a modified scoring system that awarded two points for both a touchdown and a takeaway and one point for each field goal and defensive stop.

The Blue controlled the opening half, building their advantage behind eight defensive stops and a takeaway. The defense registered four three-and-outs and allowed only one score by the offense over the nine first-half drives. But after fighting all the way back, quarterback Elliott Brow threw a 31-yard pass down to the 1-yard line to set up an acrobatic catch by Jamel Hardy to give the Orange the lead, for good, 11-10.
