Good Morning, UTSA Fam. There’s a new UTSA champion! David Martinez captured a share of the individual title at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate yesterday, earning his first collegiate victory and leading UTSA to a fourth-place team finish. The Houston junior closed with a 3-under 69 to finish at 12-under 204.
Martinez made 16 birdies on the week and played the par fours at 5-under, shattering his previous collegiate best 54-hole score. Francisco Solorza climbed 12 spots in the final round to tie for 19th. UTSA returns to action Sept. 21-22 at the Rod Myers Invitational in Durham, North Carolina.

🔼 Busy Weekend Ahead. The Roadrunners are loaded up this week with four home events. Volleyball opens the Roadrunner Classic tomorrow against Gonzaga at 6 p.m., then hosts East Texas A&M on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and IU Indianapolis on Saturday at 1 p.m. Soccer takes the pitch Thursday night at 8 p.m. for the Hometown Showdown against UIW. Plenty of chances to get out and support the Navy and Orange!
🔼 Standing Out. UTSA QB Owen McCown earned an American Conference Player of the Week honorable mention after his electric performance against UTRGV. McCown went 22-of-27 for 275 yards and three scores.
