Good Morning, UTSA Fam.

UTSA opens its 16th season of football Saturday at 2:30 p.m., hosting UTRGV at the Alamodome in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Roadrunners are 33-5 at the Alamodome under Jeff Traylor since 2020, the most home wins among American Conference teams and state of Texas programs over that span. UTSA is also 10-5 all-time in season openers and rides in on three straight bowl victories, most recently a 57-20 rout of FIU in the First Responder Bowl. The game airs on ESPN+ and Sports Radio AM 760 The Ticket.

🔼 Buzzer-Beater Winner For History. Brooklyn Bailey delivered with 14 seconds left last night, racing up the middle and beating the keeper with her left foot to lift UTSA soccer past East Texas A&M 2-1, giving ninth-year head coach Derek Pittman his 67th win at UTSA, the outright most in program history!

The game-winning goal came off a Caroline Pelkofski interception and a Sofia Peters ball over the top, and it kept the Roadrunners undefeated at 3-0-3. Freshman Lilli Denhardt got things started in the 15th minute with her second goal of the year, while Jasmine Kessler turned away five shots.

🔼 Navy Out Saturday. The Roadrunners are back at the Alamodome tomorrow! It's Navy Out, so dress the part!

🔼 Home Debut Win. UTSA volleyball christened its home slate with a five-set win over intracity foe UIW yesterday morning at the Convocation Center. Sydney Bryant led the way with 18 kills, including the match-clincher, and paced the Roadrunners in kills for the third straight match. The defense was the story, as UTSA piled up a season-high 12 blocks with Caroline Tredwell collecting seven of them, the single-match high by any Roadrunner this season. Gigi Mason added 12 kills and Giada Obregon anchored the back row with 17 digs. The Roadrunners host Tarleton State tonight at 6 p.m.

🔼 New Partnership Poured. UTSA Athletics has announced a multiyear partnership with Tequila Región De México, beginning with the 2026-27 football season. The brand becomes the official tequila of UTSA Athletics and will sponsor football fan zone activations, football and men's basketball LED assets, and baseball radio. UTSA Sports Properties General Manager Tony Nix pointed to the chance to celebrate the Hispanic heritage that is central to the Roadrunner community.

🔼 Welcome to UTSA. UTSA softball signed three new Roadrunners this week:

Lauren Byrd: The catcher/utility player joins UTSA from Queens University, where she hit .299 with 40 hits, 10 doubles, and two home runs as a sophomore.
