Good Morning, Roadrunners Fam. The UTSA volleyball team took down Charlotte 3-1 (25-14, 18-25, 27-25, 26-24) in American Conference action on Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Convo.

Notes

- UTSA picked up its first American Conference victory of the campaign, improving to 1-1.
- Taylor Gaines grabbed her ninth double-digit kill match with 11. 
- Ally Tribe recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 12 digs and 12 kills. 
- Caroline Tredwell tied her career-high with a match-best three service aces, and 10 kills are her fourth double-digit performance of the season.
- Giada Obregon recorded her first collegiate kill and led the match with 18 digs.

🔼 Quick On the Draw. Rising above a slow first half, the UTSA soccer team (6-2-4, 2-0-2 AMER) rallied after halftime and put away a late putback goal to force a 1-1 draw with visiting Charlotte (5-4-1, 1-1-1 AMER) on Sunday at the Park West Athletics Complex. Though UTSA trailed for over 60 minutes, senior Zoё May delivered in the crucial waning moments, knotting the score in the final two minutes with a heads-up, second-chance score.

It’s a huge matchup on the road for UTSA this Thursday in Houston, as the American’s second-ranked Roadrunners travel to the league’s third-ranked Rice at Holloway Field. Sunday will bring the Roadrunners’ third weekend BYE of the season.

🔼 Paving His Path to Success. Meet Stephen Cupitt, an Information Systems major and member of the Class of 2027 at UT San Antonio. His passion for tech and production led him to become UTSA Athletics’ first ESPN+ broadcasting student assistant.

With experience in audio and video, he expanded his skills, mixing audio, running cameras and troubleshooting in real time. The role opened doors to work with pro teams and explore a future in broadcast, IT or digital infrastructure.

🔼 These Two Are In Sync. UTSA’s Valeria Sanchez and Natalia Castaneda Guerrero won the Doubles A Flight Championship on Saturday in the Wildcat Invite hosted by Abilene Christian at the Judi and Cecil Eager Tennis Pavilion.
