🔼 It’s a Draw. The UTSA soccer team (6-3-1) logged a 1-1 result against visiting Abilene Christian (2-2-6) on Sunday at Park West, registering the first draw on the season. The Wildcats knotted the score in the 28th minute, negating Lulie MacFarlane’s 17th-minute go-ahead score.

UTSA led the matchup with a 23-9 shot advantage and eight shots on goal to ACU’s four. The Roadrunners also registered seven corners to ACU’s one.

Jumping right back into AAC play, the Roadrunners will head east for one of the biggest matchups on most league schools’ calendars—No. 11/15 Memphis on their home turf. The contest is set for Sept. 26 with a 7 PM CST kickoff.

Franklin turned in a 71 to help the Roadrunners record a 299 on the second day of the 54-hole tournament that features some of the top collegiate teams in the nation. UTSA is in 14th place with a 595, 14 strokes ahead of North Florida and seven shots behind East Tennessee State, one of 10 squads in the top 30 of Golfweek’s preseason rankings.

Today marks the final round for the Valero Texas Collegiate.

🔼 Zero Jersey, Zero Regrets. Versatility can be an underrated characteristic, but it’s almost always one of an athlete's most impactful traits.

UTSA Football tight end Oscar Cardenas, a San Antonio native, has done it all during his five-year career with the Roadrunners, helping Coach Jeff Traylor lead UTSA’s rise to prominence that has included a pair of conference championships and the first bowl win in program history. That versatility is also what he most enjoys about his position.

“We do it all,” Cardenas said. “We get to run block, we get to be as physical as we need to be, and then we still get the ball sometimes.”

Read the feature on Cardenas for more on his community involvement, his two most famous catches, his hopes for his legacy, and his NFL and coaching aspirations.
