Good Morning, Roadrunners Fam. Nnanna Anyanwu posted three sacks and Robert Henry Jr. turned in his sixth straight 100-yard rushing game to help UTSA hold off Colorado State, 17-16, on Saturday night at Canvas Stadium.
What began as a low-scoring affair ended in thrilling fashion. After the Rams (1-2) tied the score at 10-10 with under seven minutes left to play, the Roadrunners (2-2) grabbed the lead again after Henry broke free for a 74-yard touchdown reception.
Shad Banks Jr. and Jimmy Wyrick paced the UTSA defense with 11 tackles apiece, the first time two Roadrunners have made double-digit stops in the same game since the 2022 season opener.
Following its first idle week of the season, UTSA opens American Conference play on Saturday, Oct. 4, against Temple in Philadelphia.

🔼 Soccer is a Family Affair. UTSA soccer player Maria Reyes talks about how her family influenced her decision to take up the game.
“When my dad coached for Mexico in London in 2012, he won an Olympic gold medal, said Reyes. “And it was really the start of the love for soccer for me,” going on to say that he’s given her some “tricks up her sleeve.”

🔼 Chemistry Sparks Comeback. In its final weekend before American Conference play begins, the UTSA Volleyball team is finding its groove.
Losing three of their first four matches to open the season, the Roadrunners (6-4) have spent the last two weekends on the road, playing in tournaments hosted by Missouri State and North Dakota/North Dakota State. That time away from San Antonio has helped strengthen the team chemistry with a young UTSA squad.
Sophomore outside hitter Ally Tribe, who made an immediate impact with the Roadrunners since joining the program in 2024, believes the bond that exists between her teammates has been a principal reason for their success. UTSA has won four consecutive matches and five of its last six.
“I feel like the chemistry has been amazing, especially with us being on the road the past two weekends,” Tribe said. “We’ve learned to bond with each other a lot.”
