Good Morning, UTSA Fam. UTSA volleyball is red hot! The Roadrunners dropped the opening set to Texas State on Saturday, then clawed their way back to take the rivalry match in five and run their winning streak to eight!

The fourth set was a demolition, as UTSA hit .370 and crushed the Bobcats 25-12 behind three kills and a block from Ally Tribe. Tribe finished with a season-high 13 to lead the team in kills for the first time this year, while Ledisi Kpea matched a career best with eight blocks, and Isabella Arroyave notched her second double-double in three days. The win also snapped a long drought in the Battle for I-35!

🔼 Defense Stood Tall. UTSA walked into a packed Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium against the No. 1 team in the country, and the defense gave Roadrunner fans plenty to hang onto. Brandon Tucker Jr. led all players with 11 tackles, adding a sack, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a quarterback hurry as UTSA held Texas to a season-low 172 passing yards and 400 total. Arch Manning was limited to 164 yards, and Hollywood Smothers managed just 54 on the ground. Eze Osondu chipped in eight stops and Owen Pewee forced a fumble.

UTSA is back at the Alamodome on Saturday against Colorado State at 11 a.m. on ESPNU.

🔼 North of the Border. UTSA women's golf heads to Canada for the first time in program history, competing at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational today and tomorrow in Ontario. The 54-hole event puts the Roadrunners up against a loaded field that includes Auburn, UCLA, Tennessee, Michigan, and Virginia. UTSA arrives off a runner-up finish at The Bruzzy, where Victoria Schuldt claimed a share of her first individual title with a collegiate-best 10-under 206. The trip is also a homecoming for Kayla Black, who hails from Mississauga in the Greater Toronto Area.

🔼 Tee Off. UTSA men's golf heads back to the Carolinas this week for the Rod Myers Invitational, a 54-hole event today and tomorrow at Duke University Golf Club in Durham. The Roadrunners face a field that includes Duke, North Carolina, Harvard, Princeton, and Virginia Tech, with 36 holes today and the final round set for Tuesday. UTSA arrives off a fourth-place showing at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate, where David Martinez claimed a share of the individual title with a 12-under 204 for his first collegiate win.
