🤙The Official Newsletter For UTSA Athletics, brought to you by J-Prime Steakhouse!
Good Morning, UTSA Fam. Scores for Scholarships turns every UTSA trip to the end zone into support for Roadrunner student-athletes! Pledge an amount per touchdown, and your total gets multiplied by the touchdowns scored across the regular season; for reference, the Roadrunners found paydirt 51 times last season.

Pledges are processed at the end of the year by default, with per-game options available through the RAF office. Every dollar counts toward your annual RAF membership and earns Loyalty Points, which factor into parking and hospitality access for next season. More info on how you can pledge here.

🔼 Battle For I-35. UTSA hits the road tomorrow for the Battle for I-35, facing Texas State at UFCU Stadium in San Marcos with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff on The CW Network. The Roadrunners lead the all-time series 5-2, including a 2-1 edge in games played in San Marcos, though the Bobcats have taken the last two meetings. UTSA arrives at 1-0 after a 45-16 rout of UTRGV that pushed the program to 99 all-time victories. There's a familiar connection on the sidelines, too: Jeff Traylor coached Texas State head coach G.J. Kinne during Kinne's senior year at Gilmer High School in 2006.

🔼 Hometown Showdown Win. UTSA soccer took care of business in the Hometown Showdown, downing UIW 3-1 last night at Park West. Sofia Peters found the back of the net twice, with Leah Varela adding the third as the Roadrunners peppered the Cardinals with 29 shots and put 12 on frame. Jasmine Kessler made four saves in goal to keep UIW at bay.
🔼 Aces Everywhere. UTSA volleyball opened the Roadrunner Classic with a sweep of Gonzaga at the Convocation Center, hitting .300 as a team while holding the Bulldogs to .129. Isabella Arroyave was the story at the service line, ripping six aces, the most by a Roadrunner this season and one shy of the program record, including four during a 10-point run in the first set. Gigi Mason led the attack with 13 kills on a .478 clip, with Sydney Bryant adding 12 kills and five blocks. The Roadrunners are now 4-2 with three straight wins and face East Texas A&M tonight at 6:30 p.m.

🔼 Trophy Time. UTSA women's golf turned in a big week at The Bruzzy, with Victoria Schuldt claiming a share of the individual crown and the Roadrunners finishing second as a team. Schuldt fired a collegiate-best 10-under 206 for her first collegiate victory, the 23rd in program history, after setting a school record for low 36-hole total on Tuesday.
Lydia Lin made her UTSA debut memorable with an eighth-place showing and a team-high 15 birdies, while Lauren Rios carded a career-best 5-under 67 in the final round. UTSA's 23-under 841 was the second-best 54-hole total versus par in school history.

🔼 Season Opens Today. UTSA men's tennis kicks off the 2026 campaign tonight at the Jake Frederick Memorial Islander Open, running through Sunday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center in Corpus Christi. Six Roadrunners make the trip to the Coastal Bend, with returners Enzo Vargas, Timeo Bretin, and Maximilian Ontiveros joined by newcomers Gabriel Jalouneix, Joel Hansson, and Dmitri Goubin, all set for their UTSA debuts. The full group competes in open singles, with three doubles tandems also in action.

🔼 Back On The Course. UTSA cross country returns to action tomorrow at the 21st Annual UIW Invitational, with the men's 8k off at 8 a.m. and the women's 5k following at 8:40 a.m. Junior Andruw Villa looks to build on a runner-up finish in his Roadrunner debut, joined by the group that helped UTSA to a third-place team showing in the opener. Freshman Cadence Harris again leads the women after placing 19th in her first collegiate meet. Junior Meryeme Mai, a 10-time junior college All-American, is set to make her UTSA debut.
🔼 Costumes & Hoops. The inaugural Basket-BALL tips off at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29 in UTSA's new Basketball & Volleyball Training Center. Tickets are $130 and include dinner, drinks, dunks, and dribbles, with proceeds supporting the men's and women's basketball programs. With Halloween days away, fans are encouraged to come in their best basketball costume: favorite player, movie character, or revered coach. Live and silent auctions will feature sports memorabilia, vacation destinations, and an all-inclusive Texas Hill Country hunt, plus competitions between the teams to earn challenge gifts for their programs.
🔼 Fall Ball. UTSA baseball and softball are back on the field as part of fall practices! Enjoy these behind-the-scenes looks as the Roadrunners put in the work ahead of a new season.
