Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. Welp, the unofficial end of summer is upon us with the Labor Day holiday, and those of us who have strong opinions on the fall decor already taking over the aisles of every retail store might have something to say about that. As you’re barbecuing, swimming, and embracing the last of summer, please enjoy this sip-sized Brew 1-0. We’ll be back with your piping hot, Venti-sized edition on Wednesday!

🔼 Running Into Fall Like… On Wednesday, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox officially announced the 2025 UTSA cross country schedule, with the Roadrunners set to kick-start the campaign on Sept. 12.

UTSA will begin the season in San Antonio, competing at the UIW Invitational at the Windcrest Golf Club. The ‘Runners will then head to Columbia, Missouri, on Sept. 26, where the Gan’s Creek Classic awaits at the Gan’s Creek Cross Country Course, the site of the 2025 NCAA Championships.

🔼 Oh, Henry! UTSA running back Robert Henry Jr. rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns, but No. 19 Texas A&M pulled away in the second half for a 42-24 victory over UTSA on Saturday night in front of 107,521 fans at Kyle Field. Henry topped the century mark on the ground for his third straight game, doing so on a 75-yard TD dash on the first play from scrimmage in the second half, which got the Roadrunners to within four points. The senior from Lumberton, Mississippi, averaged 11.1 yards on his 16 carries, coming up just one yard shy of his UTSA career high of 178 posted in the win over Temple last November.

🔼 Into the Mix. Kurt Pottkotter, a veteran administrator with over 25 years of experience in fundraising and collegiate athletics, has been named Senior Associate Vice President for Athletics Development at UTSA, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos announced Friday. Pottkotter arrives in San Antonio following nearly 15 years at SMU, where he most recently served as Executive Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Operating Officer.

Pottkotter will provide strategic leadership and oversight of all fundraising activities in support of Roadrunners Athletics.

OCI Energy’s sponsorship will include a prominent presence at UTSA football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball games with the company’s logo featured across digital and in-venue platforms, including social media score updates, courtside LED signage, and game sponsorships.
