Ancira, one of the premier dealer groups in San Antonio that has served all of South Texas since 1972, will display its signature red and white logo on the 25-yard lines at the Alamodome for UTSA home football games as part of a three-year agreement.
Ancira’s expanded partnership also includes Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities for UTSA student-athletes. Ancira will continue its traditional sponsorship elements, including new in-game activations in 2025, and will operate the dealer-car program for UTSA Athletics.

🔼 Gift of the Gab. UTSA’s standout softball television broadcast team of Alex Loeb and Cat Osterman is up for several D1Softball Golden Mic Awards, which recognize excellence in softball broadcasting.
Loeb (play-by-play) and Osterman (analyst) call the Roadrunners’ home games on ESPN+. Loeb recently completed his first season in UTSA’s broadcast booth, while Osterman has called the Roadrunners’ games for two seasons.

🔼 Small Town, Massive Talent. The journey from Middleton, Idaho (pop. 9,091), to UTSA was a long and perhaps improbable one. But, as Robert Orloski starred in the biggest win in program history this past June to send the Roadrunners to the NCAA Super Regional for the first time, he knew he was right where he always wanted to be.
Orloski’s strikeout of No. 2 Texas’ Kimble Schuessler at Disch-Falk Field in Austin to secure the regional championship win for the Roadrunners was shown on repeat across the country on ESPN and more. It marked the culmination of a spectacular season, guaranteeing the first top-10 national finish in any sport in UTSA's school history.
“I like the high-stakes situations,” Orloski said. “I like going into a ballgame, closing out the game and helping the team win. If our starter was really good that day, I enjoy getting him the win.”
🔼 In the Presence of Greatness. As part of the Birds of a Feather series commemorating the 50th season of the Convocation Center, former UTSA women's basketball letterwinner Carlie Heineman interviews fellow UTSA alumna and new Roadrunners' assistant women's basketball coach Amber Gregg.

🔼 Let’s Kroll With It. After leading UTSA women’s tennis to its best start in program history in 2025, Ki Kroll has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him as the head coach of the Roadrunners through May 31, 2028.
This past year, Kroll, who took over the program before the 2018-19 season, led UTSA to its highest national ranking in program history, reaching No. 44 in the ITA rankings. The Roadrunners charted 19 wins, tying for the second-most in program history. In the classroom, Kroll’s team logged its third consecutive season with a perfect NCAA Academic Progress Rate.
🗣 “I am thrilled to extend Coach Kroll’s contract and continue building on the impressive momentum he has established while leading our women’s tennis program.” - Lisa Campos, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics

🔼 ICYMI! For the second consecutive season, the soccer contest between UTSA and UIW will be played at San Antonio FC’s Toyota Field. The third official edition of the Hometown Showdown between the Roadrunners and Cardinals will be played on Thursday, Sept. 4, scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff.
In last year’s game two matchup, the crosstown programs met for just the third time in the regular season. The Roadrunners secured a 1-0 shutout after Olivia Alvarez smashed a 51st-minute penalty kick into the upper right corner of the net in front of an astounding 1,459 UTSA soccer fans.
🗣 “We hope that all of our UTSA Fans will show up and be rowdy to beat last year’s total and help our players compete in front of over 2,000 San Antonio soccer supporters.” - Derek Pittman, Head Coach

ℹ TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: 1992!
In 2024, Coach Kroll’s team went 17-7, which, at the time, was its most victories since 2003. The 9-0 home record for UTSA women’s tennis under Coach Kroll during that campaign marked the program’s first undefeated home ledger since 1992.
🤙🏼 Have a fantastic week, Roadrunner Nation!
