Good Morning, UTSA Fam. Resilience was on full display at Park West! UTSA soccer battled back from a deficit twice in Wednesday's Battle for I-35 opener, earning a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Texas State.
Brooklyn Bailey coolly converted a penalty kick to knot things up in the 20th minute, and after the Bobcats regained the lead, redshirt freshman Dulci Binns redirected Leah Varela's free kick with her right knee for her first career goal in the 74th. The Roadrunners outshot Texas State 13-7 and nearly stole it late; Bailey clipped the top post with 50 seconds to go!

🔼 History-Making Honor. Kameron Kloza just etched another first into the UTSA record books! The standout defender was named to the 2026 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, becoming the first UTSA player ever named to the overall National Player of the Year watch list. Also announced as a Roadrunner captain for the second consecutive season, Kloza anchored one of the nation's stingiest defenses in 2025, earning the program's first American All-Conference First Team nod while scoring the game-winner in UTSA's first-ever victory over South Florida. Fifteen semifinalists for the nation's highest individual honor will be announced Dec. 4.
🔼 Support the Squad. UTSA Volleyball's season is nearly here, and it starts with giving back! Tomorrow's exhibition against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 2 p.m. in the Convocation Center doubles as a fundraiser, with 100% of proceeds directly benefiting UTSA Volleyball and the student-athlete experience. The match opens the fifth season of the Carol Price-Torok era, and the head coach says the event "gives our fans a great opportunity to directly support our student-athletes." More details here.
🔼 Course Set. UTSA cross country's 2026 journey is set! The Roadrunners open with a pair of nearby meets: the UIW Twilight on Sept. 1 and the UIW Invitational on Sept. 12 before traveling to the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 2. The regular season wraps at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station on Oct. 16, setting the stage for the American Cross Country Championships on Oct. 31 at Lake Oaks Park in New Orleans. The NCAA South Central Regional and National Championships await in November.
🔼 Rookie of the Year. UTSA's Georgia Davidson-Erwin is earning national recognition! The Assistant Equipment Manager was named the Riddell and American Equipment Managers Association District 7 Rookie of the Year for her contributions across the 2025-26 athletic year. Davidson-Erwin joined the Roadrunners in May 2025 from Richmond, and now assists with football, baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis.
