Good Morning, UTSA Fam. The story behind UTSA's award-winning leader is one of sacrifice and pride. Lisa Campos, named the Sandy Barbour Nike DI FBS Athletic Director of the Year, grew up in Las Animas, Colorado, where her mother Rose sold burritos and tamales to help fund basketball camps and equipment.
A first-generation college student and one of just two Latina athletic directors in Division I, Campos has guided UTSA to 11 team conference championships, 40 All-Americans, and nearly 300 all-conference selections.

🔼 Paired Up. UTSA basketball's American Conference paths are set! The women's team, fresh off winning the 2026 American Tournament Championship, will host Temple, UAB, and Wichita State, travel to Memphis, Charlotte, and Tulane, and play six opponents home and away.
On the men's side, head coach Austin Claunch's squad enters year three with home-only dates against Florida Atlantic, Memphis, and South Florida, road-only trips to Charlotte, UAB, and Wichita State, and home-and-home series with East Carolina, North Texas, Rice, Temple, Tulane, and Tulsa.
🔼 Game Week. The wait is over; it's officially game week for UTSA soccer! The Roadrunners wrapped exhibition play with a scoreless draw at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, controlling 56 percent of possession while first-year players logged 81.4 percent of the minutes and Jaelyn Bracamonte preserved the clean sheet.
Now the real deal: UTSA hosts Texas State in the Battle for I-35 on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Park West. The home team has won the last two in the rivalry, with the past six meetings all decided by a single goal. We’ll see you out there!
🔼 Legends Enshrined. Five more Roadrunner greats are headed to the UTSA Athletics Hall of Fame! The 2026 class, the fourth in program history, features track and field stars Leonard Byrd, Ryanne DuPree, and Teresa Neighbors, volleyball standout Tamara Luckemeyer, and softball slugger Jessica Rogers. Highlights abound, from DuPree's nine Southland Conference gold medals to Rogers leading the NCAA in home runs per game in 2005 while powering UTSA softball's rise. The induction ceremony is set for Friday, Nov. 13, with the class also honored during the football game against North Texas at the Alamodome!
