Good Morning, UTSA Fam. UTSA women's basketball has become a home for Puerto Rican point guards, with former Roadrunner Nina De Leon Negron starring on the senior national team and rising sophomore Adriana Robles earning a U20 call-up for the Central American and Caribbean Games.

De Leon Negron helped Puerto Rico win the 2026 Centrobasket Qualifiers title after leading UTSA to a 26-5 season and conference championship in 2024-25. Robles posted 72 assists as a freshman and played a key role in UTSA's 2026 American Conference Tournament title run. Head coach Karen Aston has now mentored three Puerto Rican point guards, including Carla Cortijo at Texas, who was the first Puerto Rican to play in the WNBA.

🔼 Are You Ready For Some Football? Head coach Jeff Traylor, quarterback Owen McCown, and linebacker Owen Pewee are representing UTSA at the American Kickoff in St. Petersburg today and Friday. Traylor takes the podium at 7:40 a.m. CT this morning, with live coverage on ESPN+. Stream it here.

🔼 Representing Colombia. UTSA volleyball's Isabella Arroyave is representing the Colombian senior national team at Copa Sudamericana in Lima, Peru, this week, with the tournament doubling as a qualifying pathway toward the 2027 Pan American Games and ultimately the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. The junior outside hitter is one of nine NCAA Division I players competing in the eight-nation event. Colombia is seeking its first-ever Olympic qualification in women's volleyball.

🔼 A Program First. UTSA women's golf earned a spot in the WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Top 25 for the first time in program history, posting a 3.831 team GPA, good for the 24th-best mark in NCAA Division I. The honor follows five Roadrunners earning individual WGCA All-American Scholar recognition this month, giving the program 11 individual honorees over the past two years.

🔼 Scholars at the Net. UTSA volleyball earned the AVCA Team Academic Award with a 3.51 team GPA. Thirteen Roadrunners maintained individual GPAs of 3.50 or higher, with six posting marks of at least 3.97. Twelve of 13 American Conference programs earned the award this year.
