Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. UTSA Athletics has established itself as a national leader in serving first-generation student-athletes. More than one-third of the Roadrunners’ student-athletes are first-generation college students.
Beginning with the 2025-26 season, UTSA student-athletes who are first generation college students will wear special patches on their uniforms recognizing their accomplishment of being the first in their families to attend college.

🔼 Legacy Cemented. UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor was inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Associations (THSCA) Hall of Honor on Saturday night during the Hall of Honor Banquet as part of the organization’s annual Coaching School and Convention.
A longtime Texas high school coach who guided Gilmer to three state championships, this marks the second hall of fame that Traylor joined in 2025, as he was inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame in May.
🔼 Breigan Rights. See what we did there? UTSA track and field sophomore Ida Breigan has earned Third Team Academic All-America honors. Breigan is the first to achieve the honor for UTSA since Maddie Boswell in 2022.
A three-time All-American for the Roadrunners, Breigan collected the CSC Academic All-District and All-America honors in her first season of eligibility for recognition. She holds a 3.78 GPA in cyber security to line up perfectly with her consistent production in the jump pits for the Roadrunners. She has appeared twice on the UTSA Honor Roll, once on UTSA Dean’s List and once on UTSA President’s List, was named to the AAC All-Academic Team last year and is set to repeat the AAC honor ahead of her pending second USTFCCCA All-Academic Team selection.

Bare: "I chose UTSA because it's a Division I program on the rise with great athletic facilities, a top-notch golf course for us to practice on, and we get a lot of support from coaches, trainers and administration."
Q: What do you like most about being a student-athlete at UTSA?
Bare: "My favorite part about being a student-athlete at UTSA is meeting new people from around the globe in different sports and being able to form relationships I'll have for years to come."

In five seasons as UTSA’s head coach, Coach Traylor had led the Roadrunners to a 46-20 record, the most wins among FBS teams from the state of Texas since 2020. Additionally, UTSA is 29-3 at home in the Coach Traylor era, the third-most home wins among FBS teams during the past half-decade, trailing only Alabama (32) and Ohio State (30).
