Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. Eighth-year UTSA soccer head coach Derek Pittman announced the Roadrunners’ eight-game non-conference schedule for the 2025 season. Adding to the previously announced AAC slate, UTSA will host 11 regular season contests at the formidable Park West Athletics Complex and two road contests.

The 2025 Roadrunners are looking for even more growth from their second season in the AAC, having finished 8-7-3 for their fourth consecutive season and narrowly missed the conference tournament. Overall, they are 37-26-15 across the last four years, covering one of the most successful stretches since the program’s 2006 inception.

🗣 “This schedule will test us early with matches against Texas, Houston and nationally ranked TCU, which will prepare us for the intense competition in The American.” - Coach Pittman

🔼 Full Circle. It’s been just over a month since Mac Morgan was on the biggest stage in Oklahoma City celebrating an NCAA Women’s College World Series Championship with her University of Texas teammates. On Wednesday, she officially began her collegiate coaching career as UTSA Softball’s newest assistant coach.

Morgan starred as a pitcher at both Arizona State and Texas. She posted an 11-4 record in 2025 with 27 appearances and 17 starts. Her victory against Tennessee on June 2 propelled Texas into the championship series.

As Morgan looked to enter the coaching realm, she was drawn to the position at UTSA largely due to the opportunity to work with head coach Vann Stuedeman, who has a reputation as one of the nation’s most respected pitching coaches.

🔼 You Better WERK. With its history-making season last year, the ‘Runners WBB team knows it’s gotta put in some sweat seshes to keep the winning rolling.

🔼 First in Line. UTSA Athletics is a national leader in supporting first-generation student-athletes. Throughout the 2025-26 school year, GoUTSA.com will spotlight the department’s first-generation student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff.

Kaden Chumbley is entering his second year as Assistant Athletics Communications Director for UTSA Athletics, working primarily with the Roadrunners’ baseball and women’s tennis teams. He is a first-generation college graduate from Texas Tech University.

Q: What does it mean to you to be a first-generation college graduate?

Chumbley: “I am a first-generation college graduate from a small oil town in eastern New Mexico. The reason I’m a first-generation college graduate is because my parents got offered jobs right out of high school and they took them. It means a lot to be first generation from the town I’m from just because there’s a lot of job opportunities right out of high school, so not a lot of kids go to college.”

🤙🏼 ONE BIG THING

Birds Way Up. Actually, the countdown to UTSA football season is down to 4️⃣7️⃣ days, but who’s counting? Oh yeah, WE ARE!
