🔼 Nerves Of Steel. Chants of UT-SA engulfed Austin’s UFCU Disch-Falk Field as orange and blue clad fans clamored for an opportunity to high five the victorious players and cameras clicked away capturing moments that will never be forgotten.
Pat Hallmark’s UTSA Baseball team had just defeated No. 2 national seed Texas for the second night in a row, advancing to the first NCAA Super Regional in program history.
As he took in the celebration Sunday night in front of a crowd of more than 7,000, the Roadrunners’ sixth-year head coach was filled with pride as he reflected on just how far his players have come since they started practice last fall.
Gunnar Brown, the right-handed pitcher who transferred to UTSA from Sam Houston— where he made only two appearances—after the 2024 campaign, had stepped into one of the most high-pressure situations imaginable, starting the NCAA Regional Final game.
“He just beat Texas in a Regional Final game to send us to the Super Regional and I’ve been hard on him,” Hallmark said. “Gunnar just kept showing up.”

🔼 Things Are About to Get Wild. Buffalo Wild Wings, official sponsor of UTSA Athletics, will host the official San Antonio-area watch parties of UTSA Baseball’s appearance at the NCAA Super Regional this weekend.
While the official watch party will be held at the 5860 De Zavala Road location, all San Antonio area Buffalo Wild Wings will be showing the UTSA games and will feature 15 percent off everything on Saturday and Sunday for those wearing UTSA gear.

🔼 Roll With the Punches. In the current era of college athletics, student-athlete transfers have become prevalent, making consistency and roster management difficult for many teams. But for UTSA head coach Pat Hallmark, he’s succeeded at retaining top talent on his roster and has overwhelmingly recruited players who are dedicated to the program, their teammates and Hallmark’s vision. When it comes to the transfer portal, he’s made it a net positive.
“We’re adaptable,” Hallmark said. “We lost some good players, but we’re here because they left. That’s a fact. These players are a big reason why we’re in a Super Regional. It’s adaptability, it’s persistence and, at the end of the day, you do what you can with what you have.”

🔼 Goal-Oriented. UTSA Soccer turns 20 in 2025!
You won’t want to miss a minute of the Roadrunners’ home slate at Park West this fall. UTSA Soccer season tickets are now on sale for the 2025 campaign – the 20th year of the program, starting at just $65.
UTSA Soccer, which claimed a conference title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2022, has led the AAC in average home attendance each of the last two seasons and welcomed a record 7,002 fans through the gates in 2023.
