🔼 Jumping Into the Championships Like… UTSA track and field senior transfer Rachela Pace pulled down the UTSA record and broke her own Maltese national record while punching her ticket to nationals.

Pace will compete in the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year in the triple jump – appearing last year with Fresno State. With the completion of the regional heptathlon competitions, the 24-athlete field for nationals was fully locked in, confirming redshirt freshman Mia Lien on her automatic qualification, ranking 11th in the nation with 5,741 points. Pace and Lien will be joined in Eugene, Oregon, by senior Hugo Menin, who punched his ticket in the 400m hurdles on Friday evening. The NCAA Outdoor Championships will be held at historic Hayward Field, June 11-14.

🔼 Changing Of the Guard. During the spring 2025 offseason practices, the team gained ground on integrating younger players and the playing style the Roadrunners will emphasize heading into the eighth year under head coach Derek Pittman, the third season in the AAC and the program’s 20th overall season.

The squad had lost eight seniors who accounted for over 22,500 combined minutes in 393 individual games over their careers and were at the core of driving UTSA to the two highest win percentages in school history, the 2022 Conference USA tournament title and the Roadrunners’ first NCAA postseason appearance since 2010.

🗣 “We graduated quite a few influential players from the fall and this spring has been all about integrating the new players and providing opportunities for others to showcase themselves against a variety of opponents.” - Coach Pittman
