🔼 On Track. UTSA had a banner opening day of women's competition at the NCAA West First Round, with Ida Breigan and Daisy Monie both qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Breigan locked up her second trip to nationals with a seventh-place long jump of 6.42 meters on her opening attempt, while Monie earned her first career nationals berth by hitting 16.54 meters in the shot put on her final throw to grab 11th. Shadae Findley broke her own UTSA 400-meter record with a 52.55 and Selma Ims advanced in the 400-meter hurdles, with both moving on to tomorrow’s quarterfinals with a chance to join their teammates in Eugene.

🔼 Record Breaker. UTSA's Martín Kouyoumdjian headlined the opening day of the NCAA West First Round with a career-best 45.69 in the 400 meters, breaking the Chilean national record that had stood since 1998 and advancing to today’s quarterfinal as the eighth-fastest qualifier. The Santiago, Chile, junior's time also ranks third in UTSA history. Freshman Cyrill Kernbach made his NCAA Regional debut in the long jump, finishing 35th at 7.24 meters.

🤙🏼 ONE BIG THING

UTSA football has times and networks set for five 2026 games, starting with the Sept. 5 home opener against UTRGV at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+. The Roadrunners head to Texas State the following week for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff on CW before a 7 p.m. date at Texas on SEC Network+.

Two Thursday night American Conference games earned national television slots: South Florida at home on Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. and at Florida Atlantic on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. CT, both on ESPN or ESPN2. UTSA won't leave the state of Texas until an Oct. 24 trip to Tulane, and the schedule features seven opponents that played in bowl games last season.
