Good Morning, UTSA Fam. Top-seeded UTSA opens the American Conference Baseball Championship today against Memphis at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, chasing the program's first conference tournament title since 2013.

The Roadrunners ride into the postseason with American Conference Player of the Year Drew Detlefsen (second nationally with 92 hits) and Pitcher of the Year Conor Myles, who went 7-0 in league play. UTSA's offense ranks among the nation's top 15 in batting average, hits, and runs per game, and the lineup mashed 11 home runs in last weekend's regular-season finale. Memphis enters with momentum of its own, going 7-3 in its last 10 conference games, including a series win over UTSA two weeks ago.

The game is set for an approximate 12 p.m. CT start on ESPN+.

🔼 Landmark Investment. The University of Texas System Board of Regents has authorized approximately $471 million in capital investments at UTSA over the past year, spanning research, infrastructure, technology, and patient care. The centerpiece is Science One, a $135 million biomedical research facility on the health campus expected to be completed in 2028, along with $25 million to finish building out San Pedro II for the College of AI, Cyber and Computing. An additional $186 million targets deferred maintenance and infrastructure modernization across both campuses, and the university has been authorized to move forward with the $65 million Nexus Initiative focused on integrated computing, AI, and biomedical research capabilities.
