The UTSA baseball team completed the sweep over Rice on a 7-0 victory on Saturday, securing the No. 1 seed for the AAC Tournament.

Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. The UTSA baseball team completed the sweep over Rice on a 7-0 victory on Saturday at Roadrunner Field. UTSA closed the regular season with a 42-11 overall record and a 23-4 AAC record.
With two hits on the day, Drew Detlefsen picked up his 19th multi-hit game of the season. Mason Lytle also had two hits for his 27th multi-hit game of the year.
The Roadrunners head to Clearwater, Florida, to compete in the AAC Championship as the No. 1 seed. UTSA will take on the eighth seed Rice Owls in game two of the tournament at 11:30 AM CT tomorrow—Tuesday, May 20—at BayCare Ballpark.

🔼 Prepare to Launch. The UTSA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics celebrated 45 spring student-athlete graduates in a ceremony on Saturday night on Main Campus.
🗣 “Helping our student-athletes graduate and preparing them for their futures is our most important objective. It is no easy task to manage the demands of competing in an NCAA Division I sport coupled with a full academic load. 🔼 Spotlight On the Lady ‘Runners. Another big burst for the UTSA women’s track and field squad secured a third-place finish on Saturday’s final day of competition at the AAC Outdoor Championships. The Roadrunner women collected an additional 60 points to rack up a final score of 99 points. The men’s squad scored 31 and finished in ninth.
Adding to Ida Breigan’s long jump title and Nyaluet Diew’s shot put crown, Rachela Pace and Edlin Laur added individual conference championships and UTSA boosted the women’s medal count to 10, along with three additional medals from the men’s side this weekend at Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.
