Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. UTSA split the Saturday doubleheader, winning the first game 7-6 and falling in the second 8-7 on Saturday, May 10 at Lewis Field at Clark-LeClair Stadium in Greenville, N.C. The win in game one earned the Roadrunners their 39th win of the season, which ties the program record for most wins in a single season set in the 2008 and 1994 seasons.

With the series win over East Carolina, the ‘Runners have clinched the AAC title outright and have also tied the school record for wins in a single season at 39.

The squad is back home this weekend, taking on Rice.

🔼 Into the Annals of History He Goes. UTSA head football coach Jeff Traylor was inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Saturday evening on the Baylor University campus.

In five seasons as UTSA’s head coach, Traylor had led the Roadrunners to a 46-20 record, the most wins among FBS teams from the state of Texas since 2020. The ‘Runners have captured a pair of conference championships, earned five straight bowl berths with back-to-back bowl wins over the past two seasons and made a combined 23 appearances in the three major national polls.

🔼 G.O.A.T.’s Gonna GOAT 🐐. It’s been a busy and accolade-filled week for former UTSA men’s basketball star Jhivvan Jackson, who received recognition this week as the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga MVP while leading the league’s hottest team, FIT/One Würzburg Baskets, based in Würzburg, Germany.

Since making his professional debut in March 2022 with a 30-point outburst while playing in the Spanish league LEBA Plata and earning the 2024 Baloncesto Superior Nacional Rookie of the Year in Puerto Rico, Jackson has proven to be one of the most effective players in the BBL as point guard for the Baskets during his first season while playing in both Champions League and Basketball Bundesliga competition.
