The No. 16 seed UTSA women’s basketball team is set to face No. 1 seed UConn on March 21 at 2 p.m. CT in Storrs, Connecticut, at Gampel Pavilion as part of the NCAA Tournament First Round. The game will be broadcast live on ABC with Ryan Ruocco (play-by-play), Rebecca Lobo (analyst), and Holly Rowe (reporter) on the call. Join us Saturday for the Official Watch Party at Little Woodrow’s Braun (9840 W Loop 1604 N) for the big game, beginning at 1 p.m. The Roadrunners (18-15, 9-9 American) will appear in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the program’s history, and the first since 2009. UTSA received an automatic bid to the tournament after winning four games in four days as the sixth seed at the American Championship, with a 54-40 win over No. 1 seed Rice. With the selection, UTSA Head Women’s Basketball Coach Karen Aston becomes the 15th coach to take three different programs to the NCAA Division I Tournament, having done so at Charlotte in 2009 and at Texas for six consecutive years from 2014-19.

🔼 Resilient And Rewarding. Adversity has been an ally of the 2025-26 edition of the UTSA women’s basketball team, which is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009.

In a season filled with equal parts high and low, and perhaps everything in between, the Roadrunners completed a span of four wins in four days at the American Conference Championship on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala., giving UTSA its second league title in as many years after winning the regular-season crown last year.

🔼 Job Interviews. A total of 17 former UTSA football players laced ‘em up in UTSA’s annual Pro Day this week, with more than a dozen members of the 2025 squad as well as three others performing in front of personnel representing 18 pro teams.

🔼 Keep It Rollin’. The UTSA Softball team has tied the best conference start in program history with a 6-0 record in The American. The Roadrunners play host to North Texas for a three-game series with games at 6 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. Sunday. Purchase tickets here.

🔼 Tees In The Ground. UTSA women’s golf is all set for its second tournament of the week, teeing off today at the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club in Saddlebrooke. UTSA’s lineup will feature Lauren Rios, Victoria Schuldt, Daniela Abonce, Kayla Black and Maria Bastarrica.
