🔼 Midweek W. UTSA baseball picked up another win yesterday, defeating Texas Tech, 9-8 on the road. Sam Simmons secured the win on the mound to get to 4-1 for the Roadrunners. UTSA’s offense was highlighted by home runs from Caden Miller and Andrew Stucky, as well as RBIs from Lane Haworth (1), Miller (2), Josh Arquette (1), Stucky (4), and Jordan Ballin (1). UTSA and Texas Tech will be back at it today at 6:30 p.m.

🔼 On Deck. The Roadrunners carry a four-game winning streak into a busy week, visiting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi today at 4 p.m. before hosting Memphis for a three-game conference series beginning Friday at 6 p.m. at Roadrunner Field. Makayla Madrid earned American Conference Player of the Week after batting .467 with two homers, three doubles, and six RBI during UTSA's sweep at Tulsa, the program's first sweep to open conference play since 2019. Freshman Arlette Hernandez was dominant in the circle, tossing two complete-game wins with 14 strikeouts over 14 innings against the Golden Hurricane. Memphis enters winless in conference play, while Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is riding a five-game losing skid.

🔼 Award Winners. The UTSA Sports Properties crew is making waves off the field! General Manager Robert Stockhausen, Director of Corporate Sponsorships Blake Parker, and Senior Partner Services Specialist Humberto DeLeon swept all three award categories within their Playfly Sports group, the first time a single property has ever accomplished the feat. It's been a record-breaking year for UTSA's sponsorship team, which landed an all-time high 29 new sponsors and set a total revenue record, marking a 22.5 percent jump over last year and a 90 percent increase since Playfly took over in 2023.

🔼 Held Serve. UTSA women’s tennis made quick work of Southeast Missouri with a 7-0 blanking at the UTSA Tennis Center on Monday, their fourth straight home match. UTSA had to dig in for the doubles point after dropping the No. 1 court 6-4, but rallied to take courts two and three via tiebreakers to grab the early lead. Singles was nearly flawless; the Redhawks managed just one set win across all six courts, with Celine Absawi closing out a 5-7, 6-2, 10-1 victory at No. 1 to cap the sweep. UTSA next hosts Southern Miss on March 17.

🔼 Getting It Done. Redshirt sophomore Makayla Madrid became the first UTSA softball player to earn American Conference Player of the Week honors and the program's first weekly conference award winner of any league since Celese Loughman took C-USA honors back in February 2019. The Cibolo, Texas native was red-hot during the Roadrunners' sweep at Tulsa and win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, batting .467 with a 1.567 OPS, two homers, three doubles, and six RBI. It marks back-to-back weeks that a Roadrunner has earned a conference weekly honor, following freshman Arlette Hernandez's Pitcher of the Week selection on March 4.

🤙🏼 ONE BIG THING

French freshman forward Mathéo Coffi closed out the regular season in style, earning American Conference Freshman of the Week after recording his first career double-double in UTSA's finale at Rice. The Strasbourg native posted season highs of 12 points and 14 rebounds, the most boards by any Roadrunner this season, while shooting 5-for-7 from the field with two threes, two assists, and two blocks. It's the second Freshman of the Week honor for UTSA men's basketball this season and Coffi's first career conference award.
