🔼 No Bad Seeds. The 2024-25 American Athletic Conference regular-season champion UTSA women’s basketball team is set to enter the American Women’s Basketball Championships in the quarterfinals against Rice at noon today after earning a double-bye and the No. 1 seed via a 17-1 league record.
The Roadrunners (26-3, 17-1 The American) wrapped up the campaign with a program record 26 overall wins, and 17 conference wins tied the 2002-03 squad, who went 17-3.

🔼 High Octane Hoops FTW. The UTSA men’s basketball team (12-18, 6-12 AAC) earned a crucial regular season-ending win in the Queen City on Sunday. However, the 83-80 victory over Charlotte (10-21, 3-15 AAC) didn’t come without significant tension and an all-out fight with the 49ers all the way to the closing seconds. Claiming victory in the finale, UTSA earns the most wins since the 2020-21 season and sets themselves up with the No. 11 seed in next week’s championships.
The Roadrunners received the No. 11 seed in the AAC Basketball Championships and are slated to face No. 6 East Carolina in the second round with an 8:00 PM CST tipoff on Thursday, March 13.

🔼 Four Score And Not Long Ago... The American Athletic Conference released its 2024-25 awards on Friday, with redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins earning Player of the Year, while Karen Aston was chosen unanimously as Coach of the Year and graduate student Nina De Leon Negron picked up Newcomer of the Year honors. 🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: Six!
Redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins earned Player of the Year. This marks the second occasion she has earned the award after accomplishing the feat in 2022-23 when the Roadrunners were a member of Conference USA. Jenkins boasted five Player of the Week awards on the season and six total in The American, slotting her seventh on the league's all-time list despite playing less than two full seasons. Jenkins was also a unanimous first-team all-conference selection.
