Three of the nation’s top-25 teams are headed to San Antonio to participate in the UTSA Invitational. The UTSA Softball program hosts No. 1 Texas, No. 9 Nebraska and No. 22 Washington this Friday through Sunday at Roadrunner Field.

🔼 Making Moves. UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor has promoted Jermial Ashley to defensive line coach after four successful seasons on staff. Ashley served as wills linebackers coach the past two years, helping develop back-to-back American Conference Defensive Players of the Year in Jimmori Robinson (2024) and Trey Moore (2023). Under Ashley's guidance, UTSA led the conference in sacks and tackles for loss in 2024, ranking third nationally with 8.8 TFLs per game.

🔼 Top Finish. UTSA men's golf turned in its best team finish of the season with a third-place showing at the Compadres Collegiate in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Freshman Joshua Hong tied for third individually at even par (216), while sophomore David Martinez tied for seventh at 5-over (221). The Roadrunners closed strong with a 2-over 290 final round to post an 890 total, finishing just five shots behind runner-up North Texas. Hong and Martinez each logged 13 birdies for the week, with Martinez leading the entire field by playing par-4s at 1-under. The third-place finish is UTSA's best since placing third at the 2024 Bentwater Invitational. Next up: The Roadrunners host the Military City Collegiate presented by USAA on Feb. 23-24 at TPC San Antonio. Admission is free!
