UTSA men's basketball rallied from a 13-point deficit in the final 8:38 to stun Charlotte 88-79 on Sunday at Halton Arena! The Roadrunners trailed 70-57 coming out of the under-eight timeout before unleashing a relentless 31-9 run fueled by Jamir Simpson's career-high eight rebounds and seven assists to go with his team-leading 20-plus points. UTSA held Charlotte without a field goal for 7:54 down the stretch, went 18-of-20 from the free throw line (90%), and got double-figure scoring from six players, including 16 each from Brent Moss and Baboucarr Njie.

🔼 Sweep Complete. UTSA baseball demolished South Dakota State 13-1 on Sunday at Roadrunner Field to complete a perfect opening weekend sweep and improve to 3-0 for the first time since 2020. The Roadrunners exploded for seven runs in the first inning and four more in the second to blow the game wide open early, led by Lane Haworth's 4-for-4 performance with a run and an RBI, Brandon Bishop's bases-clearing single, and Diego Diaz's two-run triple. Kendall Dove earned the win with 4.0 scoreless innings and five strikeouts while escaping a bases-loaded jam, and the offense poured on 48 total hits, 43 runs, and a .421 batting average across the three-game series.

🔼 Helmets & Heels. UTSA Football's third annual Helmets & Heels event is set for Saturday, May 2, at 8:30 a.m. at the Roadrunner Athletics Center of Excellence, giving women a unique inside look at the program. Attendees can meet players and coaches, participate in a panel discussion on team strategies and training techniques, tour the football locker room, snap photos, and browse a silent auction with a raffle winner to be announced at noon. Tickets are available online with code BirdsUp for $10 off through the end of February, parking is free in the adjacent lot, and KSAT-TV Sports' Mary Rominger will emcee the event.

🔼 Soaring Interest. UTSA baseball and softball are riding a wave of unprecedented fan support heading into the 2026 season, with season ticket sales skyrocketing 77.1% and 77.6% respectively, year over year. Both are program records as baseball sold out reserved chairback season tickets for the first time after last season's historic run to the NCAA Super Regional and first-ever top-10 national finish, while softball sold out all season tickets for the first time in school history.
