🔼 Handing Out Donuts Like It’s Their Job. The Roadrunners took down Lamar 4-0 at the Thompson Family Tennis Center in Beaumont, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 8, to improve to 9-0 on the season.
With nine straight wins to open the 2025 campaign, the Roadrunners are now 6-0 on the road. Over the course of the season, the Roadrunners have outscored their opponents by a combined score of 42-4. In singles play, the Roadrunners are now 31-3 and 16-5 in doubles.

🔼 “It’s Just the Beginning.” The UTSA men’s tennis team (3-1) reeled off it’s third consecutive victory, taking a talented Denver (6-3) team to task on a neutral site at Oregon’s Student Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon, topping the Pioneers 6-1.
“Today showed me what this team is capable of against a respectable opponent,” head coach Sasha Gozun said on Saturday. “From start to finish, our guys showed fight and energy that we have been building. It’s just the beginning for this team.”
Unfortunately, the squad saw its three-match win streak end on Sunday, as host Oregon secured a 4-0 win over the visiting Roadrunners, splitting UTSA’s weekend in the Beaver State.

🔼 You Are What You Eat. UTSA Athletics has announced the hire of Paul Eom as Director of Sports Nutrition. Eom, a Registered Dietitian, oversees a full-service program that serves the nutrition needs of the Roadrunners’ nearly 400 student-athletes.
Eom joins the Roadrunners from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., where he has served as a Performance Dietitian since January 2024. Prior to joining IMG Academy, Eom was the Football Sports Nutrition Fellow at the University of Illinois, including a stint as the Interim Director of Football Nutrition for six months in 2023. During that time, he had full oversight of the Illini football performance nutrition program.

🔼 Relaying Record News. The UTSA track and field teams turned in several blockbuster indoor performances on Saturday on the second day of competition at the Charlie Thomas Invitational. In total, three individual Roadrunners walked away from the meet with new school indoor records, Mia Lien, Shadae Findley and Michael Campbell, while the women’s 4x400-meter relay squad also logged a new program best in winning their event.

🔼 To the Buzzer. The UTSA MBB team (10-13, 4-7 AAC) suffered a second-half East Carolina (13-11, 5-6 AAC) rally that culminated in a closing-seconds lead change on Saturday at the Convo. The Pirates worked past a late two-possession Roadrunners lead as a jump ball gave East Carolina one additional possession, and C.J. Walker put away the 80-79 game-winner with four seconds to go.
