Good Morning, UTSA Fam. Let’s bowl! UTSA will face FIU in the SERVOPRO First Responder Bowl on Friday, Dec. 26, in Dallas. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with the game airing nationally on ESPN. The Panthers come into the game at 7-5 on a four-game winning streak, while the Roadrunners won two of their last three to close out the regular season.

🔼 Winding Route. Former UTSA men’s basketball standout Keaton Wallace has taken an unconventional path to the NBA. Now with the Atlanta Hawks, Wallace looks back on why he chose UTSA, and what that decision meant on his path to the pros.

🔼 Teddy Bear Toss. The annual UTSA Athletics Teddy Bear Toss is back! The event benefits Adoption Priorities and the South Texas Alliance for Orphans. Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear to throw on the court at halftime of select UTSA basketball games.

If you’d like to participate in the Teddy Bear Toss, you can do so on Dec. 13 when women’s hoops takes on Prairie View A&M at 1 p.m. or Dec. 22 when men’s basketball takes on Seattle at 2 p.m. More details here.

🔼 Signed Up. UTSA football announced two junior college transfers will join the 2026 early signing class. Asaad Chapman, a cornerback from San Bernardino Valley College, and Sekope Wallace, an offensive lineman from Snow College, will join the Roadrunners. Chapman’s twin brother, Ahamad Chapman, currently plays for UTSA; the transferring Chapman recorded 42 tackles, three picks, two recovered fumbles, and four pass breakups with San Bernardino Valley. Wallace played in nine games for the Snow College Badgers, helping lead the team to a top-15 NJCAA ranking.

🔼 Bringing Home Hardware. UTSA track & field finished its opening indoor weekend with seven medals at Texas A&M’s McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational. Nyaluet Drew tallied two medals, earning second in the women’s weight throw and bronze in the shot put. Waylon McKenzie also finished second in the men’s weight throw. UTSA’s Jemuel Miller finished third in the indoor long jump, while Selma Ims earned silver in the 60-meter hurdles. Finally, Ida Breigan finished third in the women’s 300-meter and Cortlin Salge grabbed a bronze in the 1,000-meter.
