Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. Marking the first weekly honors for UTSA in the 2024-25 season, officials from the American Athletic Conference league office have announced that Baboucarr Njie has been named AAC Freshman of the Week, while Primo Spears was among those recognized with weekly Honorable Mention.

And in WBBβ€”for the second time this seasonβ€”redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week. She has earned eight Player of the Week awards across her collegiate tenure.

πŸ”Ό This Squad Rolls Deep. UTSA senior Jimmori Robinson was selected as the 2024 American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and is one of eight Roadrunners named all-conference, as voted on by the league’s 14 head coaches.

Zah Frazier joined Robinson on the first-team defense, while tight end Oscar Cardenas and linebacker Martavius French landed spots on the second team. Defensive lineman Brandon Brown was picked for the third team, and offensive guard Cory Godinet, linebacker Jamal Ligon, and kicker Tate Sandell all earned honorable mention.

The Roadrunners are bowl eligible for the fifth straight year and will learn their postseason destination by Sunday, Dec. 8.

Robinson also made The American’s first-team defense, and his defensive player of the year honor marks the second straight for UTSA after Trey Moore’s selection in 2023. He became the eighth player in program history to receive a conference superlative award and the third to be named a conference defensive player of the year, along with Moore and Marcus Davenport (2017, Conference USA).
