🔼 Claunch Launch in 3, 2 1… Tonight will be the full debut for UTSA men’s basketball first-year head coach Austin Claunch and his 2024-25 squad, which features 15 new members of the 16-player roster. The Roadrunners and Tigers will meet for the fourth time in a regular-season contest, with the Roadrunners holding a 3-0 advantage and all series games played at the Convocation Center. The last regular game between these teams was Nov. 7, 2022, a 74-47 Roadrunners win.

🔼 Straight Reppin’. A pair of UTSA soccer players saw their names come up for post-season recognition on Sunday as the 2024 American Athletic Conference All-Conference teams were announced. Senior Sasjah Dade and freshman Addy Johnson were among the players recognized on the All-Conference Teams.
Dade earned her first AAC end-of-season honor and second career All-Conference nod as a member of the All-AAC Third Team. After starting the year on the AAC Preseason Watch List for the second straight season, the senior defender was a back-line leader and captain, helping the Roadrunners to finish the regular season third in the AAC rankings. Named to the All-Freshman Team, Johnson (Edmond, Oklahoma) was twice the recipient of the AAC’s Freshman of the Week award, pacing the Roadrunners with four goals and nine points, adding one assist.
🔼 Coming Full Circle. Finish what you started. That mantra has been instilled into UTSA Football’s sixth-year safety, Ken Robinson, since his first-grade year.
“I ran select track my first-grade year,” Robinson said. “I hated it from the first practice to the last track meet. My dad told me that I had to finish what I started. That’s been going through my mind while I’ve been here.”
Robinson has seen it all since first arriving at UTSA in 2019 – coaching changes, position changes, the program's rise, and a change in the college athletics landscape. Still, he’s committed to being the best he can be each day for the Roadrunners.
He has been a mainstay in UTSA’s lineup each year of his collegiate career despite being low on the depth chart leading into several seasons. Robinson believes his positive attitude and willingness to learn have helped increase his playing time.
Read the feature on Robinson for more on his coachability, his shift to a safety position, and his role in the transformation of the UTSA football program.

🔼 Your Best Estimate. UTSA Athletics has announced that it will implement a Concessions Round Up program, in partnership with Savor and the Alamodome, to directly support student-athletes for its remaining three football games this season. At participating Alamodome concession stands, Roadrunners’ fans can round up their total to the nearest dollar amount to support UTSA student-athletes.
🗣 “For us to reach our collective goals for success, it really does take all of us. This is a great way for everyone to contribute to providing resources for our student-athletes.” - Lisa Campos, UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics
🔼 Taking It in Stride. After the meet was moved up one day for impending weather, the UTSA men’s and women’s cross country teams went to work in Wichita, Kansas, on Friday afternoon, competing in the American Athletic Conference. The men’s team finished 10th in the field, led by Pearland, Texas senior AJ Tyler, while the women were 12th with Benoni, with South African senior Chante Dixon leading the UTSA women with her first lead-scoring finish.
🔼 A Sunday Skid. The UTSA Volleyball team fell 25-23, 25-21, 25-22 at the hands of Rice on Sunday in American Athletic Conference action at the Convocation Center. The Roadrunners (8-17, 2-10 The American) fell to the Owls (15-6. 10-2 The American) as junior Mia Soerensen charted ten kills to lead the team, and sophomore Annika Sokol managed 20 assists.
