🔼 United We Stand. UTSA Athletics has announced the launch of Runners United,” a comprehensive NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) initiative designed to benefit student-athletes across all UTSA sports programs. This groundbreaking program combines three key collectives—City Fans 210, 210 Inspired, and Runners Rising—to create a community-focused, sustainable approach to NIL. By uniting these collectives, Runners United will provide UTSA athletes with greater opportunities for NIL compensation, engage the San Antonio community, and foster philanthropic support, all while solidifying UTSA’s role as an innovative leader in NIL strategies.

🗣 “We are grateful to the three collectives for working collaboratively to support all UTSA student-athletes in the Name, Image, and Likeness space, and this unified approach will only strengthen that effort. Our student-athletes and supporters will all benefit from a stronger, more unified approach to NIL.” - Lisa Campos, UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics

🔼 Lots Of Balls in the Air. The UTSA volleyball team has hit the road to face Tulane in New Orleans, Louisiana, at 6:30 PM CST this evening, ahead of a home match Sunday against Rice at 1 PM. It will be Family Day in the Convocation Center, with festivities including inflatables and an obstacle course.

Go here for the full rundown, including the scouting reports on both teams.

🔼 Bittersweet Soccer Symphony. The UTSA soccer team (8-7-3, 3-5-2 AAC) rallied to a bittersweet victory on Halloween night at the Park West Athletics Complex, as the Roadrunners logged two second-half goals from seniors Jordyn Hyland and Sasjah Dade to overtake the visiting Florida Atlantic Owls (3-10-4, 2-5-2 AAC). Despite delivering the needed win over the Owls, other surprising league results cut UTSA’s anticipated tournament opportunities short.

The Roadrunners held up their end of the work with conference tournament implications swirling around the result. However, a Tulsa draw at No. 17 Memphis shifted the standings and forced UTSA to be excluded from the field despite the victory—bringing the Roadrunners’ 2024 campaign to an unfortunate close.

🔼 A Hoop Appetizer … A Happetizer. Fans can get their first glimpse at the 2024-25 UTSA women's basketball team this evening as they are set to host crosstown foe St. Mary's in a free-to-enter exhibition bout at 6:30 p.m.

The Roadrunners are coming off a stellar season that saw them pick up the program's first postseason victory on March 21, 2024, as they took down Northern Colorado, 80-62, in the First Round of the 2024 Postseason WNIT. UTSA is also set for its second season as a member of the American Athletic Conference after going 10-8 in the regular season before edging past South Florida in the quarterfinal of the 2023-24 American Championships and falling to East Carolina in the semifinals.

🔼 Beyond the Court. UTSA Volleyball player Alicia Coppedge recently graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and has been interning with Waterman Construction.

Hear more about her role at Waterman Construction and the role Coach Price-Torok had in her landing the position in this YouTube video.
