ESPN's flagship show returns to the Alamodome for the second straight year, with SportsCenter on Campus broadcasting live from Rowdy Town Live in the H-E-B Plaza from 4-4:30 p.m. Thursday ahead of UTSA's nationally televised game against South Florida.

Matt Barrie hosts, and Rowdy and Las Palapas mascot Okie will destroy a South Florida-themed piñata during the show. Rowdy Town Live opens at 3 p.m. with free County Line wings for fans at the broadcast, free popcorn for the first 1,000, and $4 hot dogs. The first 5,000 UTSA students get a free Lights Out t-shirt. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.

🔼 Defense Takes Over. UTSA opened American Conference play with a defensive clinic, holding Rice to 232 total yards in a 16-14 win in Houston. The Roadrunners piled up a season-high 10 tackles for loss and doubled their season sack total with three, the last two coming on the final drive; Darion White and Camron Cooper got home to set up a fourth-and-13 before White made the stop to seal it. Will Henderson III led the ground game with 90 yards and a touchdown, and Michael Petro hit three field goals. UTSA is 4-1, its best five-game start since 2021, and hosts South Florida Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.

🔼 Top Five Finish. Meryeme Mai kept rolling at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, clocking 17:23.90 to finish fourth in the women's Gold Division 5k at Burke Golf Course. Freshman Kira Albino was next across for UTSA in 46th, with classmate Cadence Harris right behind in 53rd as the women placed 11th as a team. Sophomore Ethan Carranza led the men in 77th at 24:42.9. The Roadrunners return to action on Oct. 16 at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station.

🔼 Sunshine State Trip. UTSA men's golf heads to Florida for the West Bay Collegiate Invitational today and Tuesday, its first appearance at the event and third straight trip to the Eastern time zone. The 16-team field plays 36 holes Monday and 18 on Tuesday at the par-72 West Bay Club. David Martinez leads the Roadrunner lineup with a 70.6 stroke average and three sub-70 rounds this fall, having already claimed a share of his first collegiate win at the season opener. Cole Pregler makes his UTSA debut this week.

🔼 Final-Round Charge. Victoria Schuldt saved her best for Sunday, carding a 2-under 70 to leap nine spots up the leaderboard and tie for 15th at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. The sophomore from Hamburg, Germany closed with a bogey-free back nine and finished at even-par 216 to lead UTSA to 11th in the team standings. Lauren Rios and Yiwei Zhao tied for 38th, with Zhao also surging on the final day thanks to a 71 built on four birdies. The Roadrunners wrap up the fall Oct. 12-14 at the Golf Iconic Classic in Las Cruces.
