Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. UTSA’s American Athletic Conference home game against Memphis on Saturday, Nov. 2, will kick off at 11 a.m. and be televised nationally on ESPN2.

The Roadrunners and Tigers will meet for the second time on the gridiron in what will be UTSA’s Lights Out game and Salute to Local Businesses.

🔼 Claunch Launch, Pod Edition. With the MBB season just around the corner, with tipoff at home against Trinity on Nov. 4, it makes sense that the Birds Up podcast hosts would want to feature new head coach Austin Claunch on their latest episode. Check it out here.

🔼 It’s About Abonce. Daniela Abonce fired a 5-under-par 67 to highlight final-round action for the UTSA women’s golf team at the Jim West Challenge on Monday at Kissing Tree Golf Club (par 72/6,123 yards).

Abonce posted her best round of the fall season to help the Roadrunners register their top team score of the campaign with a 4-under 284, shaving 13 strokes off their previous best round of the tournament. The Roadrunners finished 10th with a 17-over 881 (300-297-284) in their fall finale to end up 34 strokes ahead of Nebraska and 35 in front of Northern Illinois. Abonce soared 14 places up the individual leaderboard on the final day to end up with a share of 16th place at 3-under 213, her best 54-hole total of the season.

🔼 It’s Fall Ball, Y’all. The UTSA baseball team has slated its Fall World Series, which will take place Oct. 25-27, and two exhibition games against Navarro College on Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. and Alvin CC on Nov. 9 at 3 p.m.

The two teams will play their first game on Friday, Oct. 25, at 6:30 PM CST and their second on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 10:45 AM. If the two teams split games one and two, the third game will take place on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 12:45 PM.

🔼 A Birdie’s Eye View. Paced by a 2-under-par scorecard from Kaelen Dulany in the final round, the UTSA men’s golf team climbed two spots into seventh place and finished ahead of three top-50-ranked teams at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational at Beau Rivage’s Private Course, Fallen Oak (par 72/7,487 yards).

Dulany’s 70 helped the Roadrunners record an even-par 288 on the final day and end up with an 880 (300-292-288) to place seventh, one shot ahead of No. 48 Purdue and five in front of Wisconsin. UTSA also finished ahead of 10th-place and 36th-ranked Kansas (886), Iowa (887), Southern Miss (890) and No. 32 UNLV (899).
