Good Morning, UTSA Fam.

⚽ Twice as Nice
👑 Crowned at Home
🤙🏼 And much, much more!

🔼 Field Position Specialist. Caile Hogan has been tabbed American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after flipping the field all night in UTSA’s 38-34 win over Navy. The punter averaged 42.8 yards on five kicks and dropped three inside the 20, backing the Midshipmen up to their own 8, 3, and 8. Quarterback Owen McCown also drew honorable mention from the league, and the Roadrunners head to Tulane on Saturday for a 7 p.m. kick on ESPNU.

🔼 Twice as Nice. Leah Varela picked up American Conference Midfielder of the Week, the second time she’s taken the award this fall and the third time in as many weeks a Roadrunner has landed one. The Rio Rancho, New Mexico, redshirt sophomore went all 90 minutes against Tulsa, then stepped to the spot and buried the equalizer in the right corner with the keeper diving the correct way. Memphis and a Senior Day meeting with Temple are up next.

🔼 Wall of One. UTSA middle blocker Ledisi Kpea earned American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the program’s first such honor this season, after piling up 21 total blocks across two matches. Kpea added 12 kills on a .450 clip for the week and now ranks second in the American with 1.25 blocks per set.

🔼 Crowned at Home. Timeo Bretin captured the UTSA UTR Sports College Circuit title on Sunday, closing out the weekend with two wins on the home courts. The sophomore got past teammate Enzo Vargas in straight sets in the semifinals, then outlasted New Mexico State’s Robert Wallin in a third-set tiebreak to take the crown. Next up is the American Individual Championships, Oct. 21-24 in Houston.

Ledisi Kpea set a 44-year UTSA program record on Friday night. How many blocks did she record in that match?
