Good morning, Roadrunners Fam. ICYMI! Rowdy Jam, marking the tip-off to the 2024-25 UTSA men’s and women’s basketball seasons, is set for TONIGHT at the Convocation Center. Start time is 7 PM CST, and admission will be free for all fans.  

The fun and energetic event will feature free pizza for UTSA students, an introduction to the players and coaches on the Roadrunners’ men’s and women’s basketball teams, and interactive games, including players and UTSA students in attendance.

🔼 Dynamic Duo. Sydney Bisgrove and Morgan Ellison finished in the top 25 to guide the UTSA women’s golf team to fifth place at the Dale McNamara Invitational, which wrapped up on Tuesday at Cedar Ridge Country Club (par 71/6,366 yards).

Bisgrove and Ellison grabbed a share of 25th with a 12-over-par 225 to help the Roadrunners tie with Boise State for fifth in the 16-team field. UTSA posted a 906 (306-293-307) to end up only five strokes behind BYU and 11 back of third-place Oklahoma while finishing ahead of American Athletic Conference opponents Tulsa (11th/926), Tulane (14th/933) and South Florida (15th/938). It marked the Roadrunners’ third top-five team showing of the fall campaign and the 32nd for eighth-year head coach Summer Batiste.

🔼 Summer, in a Different Season. UTSA alum and former assistant coach Summer Batiste is now leading the women's golf program at her alma mater. Get to know more about her journey, which is coming full circle!

🔼 Convo For a Cause. UTSA Athletics and South Texas Blood & Tissue are partnering to host a blood drive on Sunday ahead of UTSA Volleyball’s Cancer Awareness match vs. Tulsa. The blood drive will occur from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the South Texas Blood & Tissue Bloodmobile in front of the Convocation Center. Those interested in participating can register for a time slot here.

UTSA Volleyball will host Tulsa in an AAC match at the Convocation Center this Sunday. First serve is set for 12 PM CST.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Teddy Williams earned a tryout at the 2010 Dallas Cowboys Training Camp, held at the Alamodome in San Antonio. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys and spent the 2010 and 2011 seasons with that franchise.

He then went on to play in the NFL for nine seasons with seven different teams. He served as a team captain in Super Bowl 50 with Carolina, helping the Panthers to a 15-1 record in 2015.
