📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Doors Are Open. UTSA cut the ribbon this week on the Basketball & Volleyball Training Center, a $35 million, 53,048-square-foot home for volleyball and both basketball programs. Inside: two full-sized NCAA practice courts, a locker room and team lounge for each program, a weight room, meeting rooms, coaches’ offices, and an athletic training space with hydrotherapy and hyperbaric chambers that nearly 400 student-athletes will have access to. The players get round-the-clock access to the courts. Bexar County and the City of San Antonio each put in $5 million alongside a long list of donors whose names now hang on courts, locker rooms, and offices throughout the building.

🔼 Clean Sweep. UTSA Volleyball made quick work of North Texas on Wednesday at the Convocation Center, taking down the Mean Green 25-19, 25-10, 25-21 for its first win in the series since 2023. The Roadrunners stuffed 13 blocks, held UNT to a -.010 hitting percentage, and leaned on Alyssa Manitzas, whose serving fueled long runs in each of the first two sets to go with a team-best 18 digs. Now 12-6 overall and 3-4 in American Conference play, UTSA heads to Wichita State tonight looking for a third straight win, streaming on ESPN+.

🔼 Even Split. UTSA women’s soccer and Tulsa played to a 1-1 draw, with Leah Varela scoring for the Roadrunners and Brooklyn Bumgardner for the Golden Hurricane. UTSA controlled the chances, putting nine shots on goal to Tulsa’s three and forcing Maddy Nigey into eight saves, while Jasmine Kessler needed just two stops in the UTSA net.

🔼 National TV Twice More. Two more UTSA games have TV slots locked in: the Oct. 24 trip to Tulane goes out on ESPNU at 7 p.m., and the regular season finale against Tulsa lands on ESPN as part of the American’s Black Friday slate on Nov. 27. That one will be the first time UTSA and Tulsa have played in San Antonio; the series is tied 1-1, with the Golden Hurricane taking a 46-45 thriller in 2024. The Roadrunners are riding three straight wins and their best start since 2021, and Navy comes to the Alamodome this Saturday at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

🔼 Strong Finish to the Fall. UTSA women’s golf closed out its fall season with a third-place finish at the Golf Iconic Classic in Las Cruces, trailing only San Diego State and Nebraska in a 19-team field. Sophomore Victoria Schuldt tied for fifth at 2-under after opening with a 67 that matched her collegiate best, and sophomore transfer Lydia Lin was one shot back in a tie for eighth. The Roadrunners return to the course Feb. 1-3 at the FAU Paradise Invitational in Boca Raton.

🔼 Home Court Advantage. UTSA men’s tennis hosts the UTR Sports College Circuit this weekend at the UTSA Tennis Courts, with main draw play starting this afternoon at 2 p.m. Sophomore Timeo Bretin and junior Enzo Vargas come in fresh off consolation semifinal runs at the ITA Texas Regionals in Fort Worth, where Bretin rattled off three straight wins to get there. Seven Roadrunners are in the field through Sunday, and results will be posted at goUTSA.com/mtenresults.

🔼 Final Tuneup. UTSA cross country heads to College Station today for the Arturo Barrios Invitational, the last stop before the American Conference Championships, with the men running the 8k at 8:15 a.m. and the women following in the 6k at 8:50 a.m. Junior Meryeme Mai leads the women after back-to-back top-five finishes, including a win at the UIW Invitational, while junior Andruw Villa returns for the men following consecutive runner-up finishes. Live results will be posted at goUTSA.com/XCresults.

🔼 Starts Upfront. UTSA’s offensive line has earned a spot on the Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll, one of 25 units nationally recognized for the award honoring college football’s best offensive line. The veteran group, which brings a combined 266 games and 108 starts into every snap, has powered a balanced attack averaging 401.5 yards per game and allowed just one sack per contest, 17th-fewest in the FBS. Semifinalists will be announced Nov. 11, and the Roadrunners put the unit back to work Saturday at 7 p.m. against Navy at the Alamodome.
