📈 STOCK UP

🔼 A Dual, a Draw, and Donuts. The UTSA soccer team (6-6-3, 1-4-2 AAC) closed out the week with a scoreless draw on the road against Charlotte (1-7-6, 0-2-4 AAC) on Sunday. The Roadrunners maintained their position in the conference standings by adding conference points on the road during Charlotte’s senior day.

UTSA’s Jasmine Kessler notched a pair of stops while securing her fifth solo shutout of the year – bringing her career total to 10.

🔼 Mia’s Kills Were Mean, But Not Mean Enough. The UTSA Volleyball team couldn’t overcome a potent North Texas squad as they fell 23-25, 25-12, 25-12, 25-13 in American Athletic Conference action on Sunday.

The Roadrunners (6-14, 0-6 The American) fell to the Mean Green (7-10, 4-2 The American), as junior Mia Soerensen paced the squad with 11 kills, while sophomore Peyton Turner tallied a match-high 21 digs. Freshman Morgen Durgens worked a double-double to the tune of 16 assists and 12 digs.

🔼 Preseason Praise. On Friday, the American Athletic Conference officially unveiled the 2024-25 Preseason All-Conference squads, with redshirt junior Jordyn Jenkins representing the UTSA women's basketball program on the first team. Additionally, the Roadrunners were picked to finish fifth in the Preseason Coaches' poll, receiving 96 votes. 

The announcement comes ahead of the American Basketball Media Day, which will see Jenkins, junior Sidney Love, and head coach Karen Aston as guests on a live ESPN+ broadcast that can be viewed here.

🔼 Perseverance on the Pitch. Learn more about UTSA Soccer player Haley Lopez, who has had a soccer ball in her hands since the time she was born. The injuries she has persevered through over the years and her mom’s help with those injuries have strengthened her love for the sport.

🔼 Sinking Putts in the Sooner State. The UTSA women’s golf team is back in action this week at the Dale McNamara Invitational, which will be held today and tomorrow at Cedar Ridge Country Club (par 71/6,366 yards) in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday, with an 8:30 AM CST start each day. 

UTSA will line up against Abilene Christian, Arkansas, Boise State, BYU, Cal Poly, Kennesaw State, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Rutgers, Sam Houston, South Florida, Tulane, and host Tulsa. The Roadrunners are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Diane Thomason Invitational two weeks ago in Iowa.

🔼 Next Up, Homecoming. Owen McCown passed for 256 yards and three touchdowns, but E.J. Warner’s TD pass to Matt Sykes with four seconds left lifted Rice to a 29-27 victory over UTSA on Saturday night in American Athletic Conference action at Rice Stadium.

The Roadrunners will return home to host Florida Atlantic (2-4, 0-2) for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Alamodome, and the game will air on ESPN+ and Sports Radio AM 760 The Ticket.

🤙 ONE BIG THING

It’s Your Jam. Marking the tip-off to the 2024-25 UTSA men’s and women’s basketball seasons, Rowdy Jam is set for Wednesday, October 16, at the Convocation Center. Start time is 7 PM CST, and admission will be free for all fans.  

The fun and energetic event will feature free pizza for UTSA students, an introduction to the players and coaches on the Roadrunners’ men’s and women’s basketball teams, and interactive games, including players and UTSA students in attendance.
